Haha, that explains the night vision! I could possibly modify one for you to see infrared light, as well as a modified bike light containing infrared LEDs (I'm an amatuer electrician/geek). I did it once with a webcam and the results were stunning. Night vision! Then again you could just use a regular light.
that would be awesome! AND if you manage to make it waterproof it will be an all singing all dancing marvelous thing!
Oh and someone mentioned about wind noise early on in the thread, can this not be reduced (by at least a small amount) by sticking a tiny bit of foam over the mic?
