Worth the extra £80 or so? I've been looking at the foray and it seems like amazing value? It's only 35g heavier than the synthe (not that I'm too bothered by weight). Was the mushroom head effect drastic? Serious question.

Thought as much. But I was pleasantly surprised at how it performed in a 5 minute downpour. Completely dry on arms and chest, obviously another 5 minutes and it probably would have been a different story.

True but I suppose in most ways that's all a road disc frame is? Otherwise it's not a road frame really? But I get what you mean, it's just had disc mounts added rather than a new frame designed. Bb30 puts me off as well. Although the praxis bb30 to shimano I have in my caad10 has been perfect for the last 8 months, but does cost £50...

I wore it in a short down pour (with a backpack so my back was dry accept sweat...) and I was really surprised by the waterproofing on the front. Not sure how it would last in a long downpour though. And then without a backpack you'd get a wet back... I don't think the back is waterproof is it?

If it had mudguard mounts I'd be cancelling my order on a Genesis equilibrium disc and be buying that. I'm kinda ashamed that mudguard mounts is what's stopping me.

Surely that's a mistake!?

Got the above mount and fitted it to the spyre caliper. Seems to be the right thing for the job, now left with 2 threaded holes that should line up with the frame mount.

Not as clean as the flat mount caliper though obviously... Will purchase one when it's available...

I think, judging from the blurb that the adapter posted above will do the job. Don't wanna have to wait for the flat mount spyre to be released. I've been waiting 7 months for this build and I'm one of the most anxious people ever so this is killing me.

I've just had a quick google for a flat mount one from trp and it looks like they are releasing it next year. I might buy the adapter for now and when the flat mount is available just do a swap and sell a second hand spyre. Thanks!

I go and buy a pair of spyres for a build. Then I buy the frame (expected in January) and now I realise the rear mount is flat mount and that isn't the same as the spyre fitting?
Is that right?

Equilibrium disc at 2.95kg is a little more than expected but still gonna be a brilliant piece of kit.

Might try mine again with just a quick lick rather than running it under the tap. It's a little chilly putting it on when following the instructions...

Not sure what your strap is like but if it's similar to the 'premium hr strap' then you physically have to run it under the tap. Sweat just isn't enough. The instructions say so. Weird. I'm so used to just giving my cheap Bluetooth monitor a quick lick and it works. Ha.
