I started to collect and build for Retro Ronde and Eroica, but now I have the Merckx I've got to have a clearout. First up is a lovely Batavus Criterium made from Ishawata 025 tubing. Entry level 1970s/80s racer.
Its tatty with plenty of scratches and some rust spots on the chrome. The tyres are perished and the spokes corroded. However the hubs and rims are sound so a rebuild will keep it looking original.

Lovely ride and would make a really good project. It could look very ....... well it could!

Too big for me but these are really nice frames. Had one years ago and only replaced by carbon. Don't know why they don't get more attention.

Would love this one..... but in Amsterdam collecting two new bikes; a Cube 29er and a &0s Gazelle. as well as a 4oth party so I'll survive. Just!

I know what you mean dr.f. I think it's that people want something that they saw their heros, Merckx, Moser etc ride on. Even if it was factory produced. I have even ridden regularly with Brian, many many years ago and feel drawn to this as it looks lovely but it would mean a divorce. And that would be even more expensive than full price!
