Yeah, he did a U-turn from the opposite side of the road which is what caused me to go into him... I ended up injured and bloody on the other side of the vehicle, leaving the bike on the side I hit him.

He clearly saw me and thought it was ok to manouver the thing to a safe position, and in doing so going over the bike.

I was genuinely more upset when I saw the damage than when I realised I could have died.

Yeah the forks are fucked too, but it wasnt the collision which caused the damage (I think)... According to witnesses, the recovery vehicle reversed back and forth a few times over the bike which is what I think really finished it off.

All of the above are still here and the sugino will now come with a 46t matching chainring!

Thanks, but it's most likely beyond repair no? Rip at the top tube just by lugs and crease by diagonal tube bit underneath...

I wouldn't feel safe riding it after even if it could be repaired.

Recovery vehicle pulled across to do U-turn and I went into the side of him. Happened so quickly but according to witnesses he was on his mobile, which explains why he didnt see my flashing lights.

I've approached solicitor's and it doesnt seem to be an issue, for now. From reading, apparently one brake is sufficient and the fixed cog is classed as one...

Only happened last month so will probably be a while before any conclusion is reached.

EDIT: He also drove over the bike twice after the collosion lol :(

I most likely wont look at repairing it, I just wonder how these things are done thats all. I guess it's a what you paid situation and bollocks to sentimental value / uniqueness of the bike in question.

Working my way through this but wondered whether anyone had to go frame builder or special bike shop for valuation etc.

I was the proud owner of the pink "yves lagalisse" track frame, but was unfortunate enough to crash it about a month ago.

It's looking to be an insurance/solicitor jobby, I just wanted to know how I would go about valuing the frame? Framebuilder?

Forks are bent and crack/tear/crease in top tube and diagonal tube.
