@wenzovic @SasenFrAsen I've been on the hunt for a do-it-all frameset to replace my Surly Straggler for a long time now, and the Singular ticks all the boxes. It also temporarily satiates the hunger for a beautiful randonneuse. It's an excellent bike!
I will be looking to have a custom bike built in the future, but will probably invest a little more budget, and go to somewhere that specialises in low trail 650b builds e.g. Bantam, Map, LaFraise, etc

I'm planning to start a new project, based on a used high-end steel frame. I don't have any affinity for a particular brand, so I'll pick it based on size, and the steel used in construction.
Can someone please advise what the lightest steel used in production frames across a)70s b)80s c)90s
I guess Columbus Max was no1 in the 90s?
I'm more interested in finding something lightweight, rather than strong/stiff.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for all the sugestions - I think I've narrowed it down to a silver Thomson or one the CNCd Nittos.
@TheBonk sounds great but I need 110 sadly. Thanks for the offer.
