Riding along peckham road along the right side of a queue of traffic waiting at the junction with southampton way. So I'm riding along, thankfully not very fast, and an idiot decides to pull out from the queue of cars to jump the line and turn right onto Southampton Way. He's about 12 cars back in the queue. Gave no signal, just went for it as I was level with him. I slam on the brakes, can't avoid him without going into oncoming traffic and I manage to jump off my bike and take a tumble, cutting up and bruising my knee, landing on my hands (one of which is only just recovered after fracturing it in May).
Of course when I had dusted myself down, I saw that he was just up the road still waiting to turn right so I approached his car and told him he caused me to crash. Him and his mate had nasty smirks on their faces. He told me he signalled and then just laughed and drove off.
I got his numberplate and I will be visiting peckham police station ASAP. Think it was outside a petrol station, so should be on CCTV.
So angry. Leaving the scene of an accident in which someone is hurt. Horrible man.

First commute after 3 weeks off the bike with a fractured hand.
Never had a cyclist undertake me so close as today. I was maximum about a foot and a half away from the curb riding slowly behind a bus and whooosh... through he goes to try and go down the inside of two buses, centimetres away from me. He nearly gave me a heart attack! Asked me "what am I supposed to do then?" when I told him not to be such an idiot.

So you rely on a stranger being able to spot hazards that you can't and point them out to you?
no. I would just consider that to be a nice thing to do for someone. there was a pothole on waterloo bridge that I used to see people hit for example. it was small by very deep so I would just give it a wee point to when I rode past it.

Van didn't stop. Probably didn't even bloody realise what they did.
Yeah. Just got a splint thing on for a few weeks. Counting myself very lucky. Lots of people saw it and were very helpful. And police were driving by moments later.
They were very helpful, but one did say to me "were you wearing a helmet?" and I said no I don't feel the need to wear one. His reply: "says the man with the grazed face". I just pointed at my swollen hand and said this is the problem.
