Got to the start late (9.30om) and bumped into a guy I once raced in an alleycat who invited me to cruise with him and his mate for a bit, which was appreciated. Ended up losing them in Hackney (!) and was on my own from there on out.

Arrived at The cyclist 3.5 hours in, and thought to myself I should probably slow down a bit as no way I could maintain that pace (surprised I even had that pace) but didn't feel too tired and got carried away with the no traffic/nice roads so carried on....

Last 40km was torture - I have never been so unexcited to arrive at a beach in my life. Shared a taxi with a couple of riders to Ipswich and got the train home.

Need to get some advice on food because my nuts/oaty protein bars became almost impossible to eat at some point, despite keeping very well hydrated.

It's twice the distance I have ever cycled in one day though, so pretty pleased with myself. Would be nice to be on time next time to meet/chat to some people when not exhausted.

What is the approx width/rise/sweep on the bars please? Had a quick google but couldn't find them anywhere

Just decided I'm gonna have a crack at this. Think i have most of the stuff I'll need (apart from maybe the legs).

I only have one set of bosses/cage on my bike, so will need to fashion something tomorrow... What is refill situation like on route/how much water should I carry?

Mismatched but fully functional and will get you proper ultrashift Campag on the cheap.

Derailleurs both vgc.

Shifter hoods are good, some peeling/scratches to the lacquer on the levers.

Cable inners Campag, outers are decent compressionless from a roll at LBS, perhaps jagwire but not sure.

Taken from my 62cm gazelle with trad. drop bars so should be long enough for most applications.

Wouldn't learn the notes properly and would trigger all voices on any midi note. Problem was in Live (not the DRM) and fixed by sticking a MIDI pitch filter at -2st on the closed hats in the drum rack. Don't know why it works but it does.

The music I'll attempt to create will be pretty drum orientated but I want it to to be much more percussive rather than step sequence-y so pads should be a big help.

The DRM is pretty sick though, can sit and tweak it for hours and doesn't get boring. Mildly frustrating when you accidentally move something and the sound is lost forever but then you just tweak some more and get something else.

8ish months later and I finally set up my DRM1 MK3 properly after a few emails with Vermona, who were excellent. I am going to sell the Minilogue and try to learn how to do one thing quite well (arrange and process drums) before introducing anything else. This means buying some drum pads...

Also, I have quickly realised I need to process the sounds out the DRM a bit. I don't see myself owning a pile of nice hardware for this task in the immediate future 'cause £££, so this means learning to do some things in Live.

Should I go for some mid-range midi drum pads, or take the hit and just buy Push 2 now?

I assume the key for non jittery ride is using 406 front?
