^^^ I'm riding the same gearing as you, on the same tyres and I'm 5 11 which is 61.31 in inches and screws that theory over completely. (And I often do 48x16 for longer rides as well).

Already done. Fork-mounted hanger too. The set-up was pretty good before, and it still works actually. Just noisily.

Had this recently with my Canti's (not on new rims though). Was having the bike serviced and mentioned it to LBS, they loosened the brake pads and it disappeared. Peace and joy.
