Been too bussy to finish the bike last week. Right now there are only small things left really.. setting up the gears and brakes, order the inner tubes, rim tape, chain & cassette.
For the bars I am thinking black perforated tape (Fizik soft touch maybe) + yellow electrical tape underneath. Sounds a little weird maybe. But need some black tape with yellow details. I've seen the black tape, perforated, with blue color underneath but couldn't find them in black&yellow, so I thought I'll just make that myself.
While not finishing the bike I did buy something too expensive and silly for it:

Found some chorus/record? brake levers with black hoods that still look decent.. Bike is getting blacker and blacker, need to add some colour soon.
The water bottle is nice and bright though. ha!The 100mm DA stem had to go (here), switched it for a Shimano600 70mm that will probably do the trick.
Wasn't feeling the NITTO rb-021 on this frame when I rode it fixed so got something with a similar rise at the bar ends but without the drop..
Added some NITTO bar end plugs for the street cred. All that plus the rear (8speed) and front mech results in something that is actually close to ridable,

I celebrate this one year anniversary of total inactivity in this thread with this:

Just added some other Concordes to the cluster on Velospace, 50 in total now, lovely bunch!

Really like that Principia! Needs matching tires!
I'm thinking of doing fenders again. Last time i had these SKS things:

Don't have eyelets for them though so it got a bit messy with tie-wraps and such.. what's the best option while keeping a classic look on the bike?

... I needed a 700c rear FiR Super Rialto wheel/rim..
Did some searching on eBay and such, nothing. Sometimes I found a FiR Rialto which looks kinda similar but still.. matching decals was what I was aiming for.
At some point I stumbled upon an Italian cycling shop that also sold some vintage stuff, NOS FiR Super Rialto Grid rims included :) I was fucking stoked and ordered one straight away for a little over €90 via their contact form (old school online shopping this).

Thing is, I have no experience with wheel building and my favorite LBS didn't want to take on this project because the rim was build for internal nipples. Larger shops told me it would take them too long, they didn't have time because it was pre-summer season.. or something, assholes. So i took the rim to a friend who had build a wheel or two and after a mere 18 months the wheel was done.. you can't hurry up your mate can you. Anyway: shit looks good, can't wait to put it on the frame!

Very cool! Front clearance looks tight enough to me.
Got any pictures of the frame prior to the repair?
