Got mine in Clerkenwell Screws on John H's recommendation, they have a much better selection of countersunk bolts in different lengths than leyland. I filed at an angle so the spikes look like little pyramids and used a locknut in the shaft, zero movement so far and I lean on my mallet/hit the ground a good bit.

just seen these on one of my favorite framebuilder's blog. does anyone know what bike these went on?
Looks like they'd be better on a circus bike than polo. Most fun bikes ever btw...

Take the crank bolt out, ride around the block a few times 'til the crank comes loose... This is the smirk horatio method, tried and tested...
+1. Also known as the bogger method back home
Can anyone recommend a good mid-range bb? I'm looking at the un55 but would like something that wont die too fast from the filthy roads and extra spinning down the hills here.

Every time something goes wrong on my bike I think the frame has cracked!
First make sure everything on your bike is nice and clean. Tension your chain and lube as necessary. Then tighten everything that has a thread; pedals, crank arms, bash guard, chainring, bottom bracket cups, saddle clamp, headset, stem clamps, brake levers, brake arms, brake pads, valve caps, cones, wheel nuts, EVERYTHING. Now give your crank arm a rattle, if the axle wobbles through to the other crank your bb probably isn't gone. Spin your pedals forwards and backwards, does your freewheel sound ok?
If your crank isn't wobbling and freewheel seems ok then take your bike for a spin and note when the creaking happens. Try peddling in and out of the saddle and see does that change anything. Brake sharply, try freewheeling, turning tight circles, then lifting the front wheel while rolling in a straight line and hopping the rear a little bit and see does it creak. Assess the health of your parts then start to think about your frame!

£25 is crazy. You can get dot fluids in larger quantities and cheaper from motor shops because its used in car brakes too. Mineral oil I'm not so sure of.
Syringes, hoses and hose clamps can be borrowed from your friend at the local hospital/research lab/uni. The only thing I had trouble getting were the funnel bits to screw into the bleed ports but the way M_V explains it they seem redundant now.

Bleed kit?
I use and old bottle, some plastic hose (small dia, maybe 7mm) and 8mm spanner, and a tub of Dot 5.1 fluid. And some latex gloves if you value your skin.Ghetto bleed kit, love it. How do you get the air out of the fluid though? And do you just let gravity do the work to pull it through the hose? Or can you suck it up using the lever?
It is removable, I almost had it converted but it wouldn't fit on my bars :( If you like I could mod it for you, £25 + postage? Unless you already have the mod.
I have the mod already its cool. Sent you a pm now -
