Before I over spend on ebay, looking for a HED3 front clincher with machined braking surface. I have a completely unused and brand new front wheel to part exchange if that helps matters. Novatec to DP18 machined with a completely new and unused gatorskin on it. Pictures available.

I'm guessing budget at around 300 straight and 250ish part exchange. Please pm me if you've got something.

Boring question, but do you think they have to negotiate permissions to do this kind of thing? You'd think it would be some kind of IP infringement. Maybe they just go ahead and do it regardless.

FWIW, my earlier assumption regarding the 'PROtotype' wheel being a HED3 seems to be correct. I wonder if it's a simple question of PRO asking (and/or paying) HED for permission. You'd think HED would be pretty pissed that they don't get the exposure, but having said that, anyone who's really going to fork out for a wheel like that new is going to know what it is anyway. COOL STORY BRAH!

Are the wheels on the tour de france TT bikes HED3's? They have 'Pro-Totype' written on them? Had Pro licensed the design maybe? I seem to recall that Specialized originally designed the 3 spoke and Hed bought the design off them....

The ones from MASH are new. I've seen them in person and you will never get a pair of these in better condition.

$225 is around £140? Pretty good deal really, for what they are.
