They told me that i have to send the spider back and then they will send the new one. I can't wait that long. Better buy a new one in the meantime, and then have the double....worst case i'll send one of the two or just keep the double for a next bike.
So I really need to know if this sugino
is compatible with the gebhardt chainring i already have

NO. look at the PCD.. 100 for the cranks, 130 for the chain ring...

Fuck. I just picked up an old steel frame of mine from the local sandblaster. Some slight rustpitting, but nothing serious. Take it home, do some minor filling with chemical metal, sand, dust it off, wipe it with acetone. Thought I'd just start out by spraying the fork using some Hammerite Direct-to-metal primer-paint-and-topcoat-thing. Weather's nice and warm. Humidity is fine. Shake the can like a maniac and start spraying. Paint runs everywhere. It's milk-like and runny as fuck. And a single can costs £15! Was so looking forward to putting it all together tonight...
Thin layers is the key. When i sprayed mine, i did ~15 layers, each one, pretty much the minimum you can spray. Also, you want to make sure the surface isn't completely smooth, else paint is never going to stick... and wire wool every few layers.

I had the same problem, so just called it quits and took my frame to the local bike shop. The had to use a vice and a f*&% off wrench from a dock yard to get it off, but it worked.
I doubt Amourtex will powdercoat if the frame isn't completely stripped. Also, you may find that some of the threads will have to be reamed, as some powdercoat stuff tends to get in there and clog the threads. This also makes me think that not completely stripping the frame would be a bad idea...
All my threads came back in way better condition than before the powder coating. The sand blasting clears them out / strips off any rust, then they cover them for the powder coating.

It's in the forks, not the head tube, everything else came out fine so either its more smashy or get some other forks I guess. I'll ring 'em tomorrow.
oh yeah, silly me! even less paint inside the forks! you could just ask them to keep an eye on it so they can grab it if it falls out, i'm pretty sure it won't get damaged by the blasting/painting...

Is it just the bit inside? if so, how did you get the headset cups off? When i got my frame back there was very little paint in the headtube, it may be something they don't notice if you don't tell them ;)
or it may come out when the frame is heated when they strip it... best thing to do is call them...
