HOBBS OF BARBICAN BLUE RIBAND F+F. 58cm
early 50s, story goes that Hobbs started shutting down and outsourcing their cheaper models, hence this frame has nervex lugs rather than the older wave lugs that can be seen on the nicer ones (please speak up if this is all balls, its just what I can gather from research).. nevertheless, its a lovely frame, undoubtably 531, but I didnt get a new sticker when I restored it from original (I think) paint.

58cm square, finished in midnight blue and purple flam, with gold lug lining and correct transfers. few chips to the tt and chainstays, but could be touched up very easily, and is overall in very good nick.
£160 F+F with period headset (TDC I think, little corroded, but works)
£190 with Bayliss Wiley BB and Williams cottered chainset pictured.OR trade/part ex for 60cm road frame from same period, preferably something interesting...

cheers for the bump mr bump, I figured that as long as the spacing is ok, the shifter should be able to handle a larger screwon freewheel...
for others, the tubs up for trade are mavic championnant du monde sur route rims laced to some shimano low flange hubs that I cant really ID, but all in good condition, will get some pics later when I can.

have decided to do up my road bike, as riding fixed is stopping me wearing nice shoes (vanity dictates most of my life), but having ridden bigger frames since building my 50s period Hobbs build, I've realised its a bit too small, so after something fit the current build, (campag gran sport/williams/racelite/dunlop/GB etc)
let me know of anything,
cheers.

my brother isnt a big cyclist, but he recently bought an amazing koga miyata off here for peanuts, but it came with (really nice) tubs...
once he gets a puncture Im not confident he'll ever use it again, so Im after a cheap (under £60) silver, low profile wheelset, with a freewheel thread.
if anyone reading this is interested in a stunning shimano/mavic tubular road wheelset then let me know, can part ex etc.
cheers!
