Hi are you still trying to find out about your frame? I think it's a Bates B.A.R or Bates Vergrandis, could also be a later one built by Ron Cooper. They called the tubing Cantiflex (531) which apparently made them more stiff

I used to have a lovely fillet brazed Tom Bromwich 531 mountain bike and would love something similar for the road,

The only thing is I need quite a short top tube for my T-rex type build, (I'm currently riding a 21.5" tt c-to-c) with a 22" seat tube

I could probs go up to 22.5" top tube and probably a maximum of a 23" seat.

Apart from that I'm open to pretty much anything in steel! mudguard/rack eyelets are a plus though..

A possibly trade would be my Andy Powell/Overbury's tourer.

Sorry but that 'custom' frame looks atrocious, like he's got an old steel frame, hacked of the seat tube and welded in some new stays - did you look at the welding before you posted?
