I'm not even sure you could honestly list it as a cinelli with zero proof other than that someone told you it was one. Although more detailed photo's might help with the identification.
agree, I did relay on the old tag attached to it. couldnt find any reason why someone is 60/70 would have any reason to make it up.
but I will verify that, though

I have a really nice Colnago.
The stays got bent by a fucking clumsy bag handler.
I took it to a reputable frame builder near me who gave me an honest evaluation of either bending them back and taking the risk of them failing, or sending it off to get them replaced. Not having the money I ride it as-is, but if I were to sell it I would be honest and say, in the understanding that I'd get a fraction of the price. Even if the stays were replaced and it was structurally sound, it would still not be the original stays or paintjob, so I probably wouldn't even recoup the money spent to do it.
So when you say it will only cost whatever, or will go for 'nice money', it fucking clearly won't unless you lie like a bastard, as there is really no redeeming feature to the frame to make people buy it otherwise. It's not that difficult to understand. It's damaged. Quite seriously. This aloof-it's-all-cool thing you're doing is fine, but you're still pretty deranged to think it's worth that money.
in most cases I would agree with you.
I have sold nice italian frame from 40's fully chromed and nicely re-sprayed for SOME NICE money. I was honest about the age and what was done to it. That didnt put the buyer off.
Sold few bikes in my life and as you can see from any of my threads I dont lie. If I am not sure I say that even knowing that that would feed the troll.

Fair enough, but surely on a business level that's a risky maneuver. £150 to get it repaired plus the £300 your asking, even on ebay you'd get some incredible (original and verified) frames for that.
this was the first listing when i typed de rosaIt's on £301 with twenty min to go. Lets see where it ends!
well, there is always some risk that you wont get your money back... if workshop would tell me 'dont fix it' I would skip it.
by a look of it I rather do it nicely and then sell it. not worried about it.
thanks anyway.

So for this 'nice money' (£450 min?) will you tell the eventual buyer that the whole top of the seat-tube where the stays join had split, forcing it to be either bodged back together making it weaker, or replacing the whole cluster (requiring stays and top tube detached, seat tube removed and replaced, then all re-assembled? And will you give them conclusive proof that it's a Cinelli or tell them the fork isn't orginal, nor is the paint?
Starts to look like a pig dressed up as a racehorse really.
if that is how you do it ...
I personally go to professionals who know how to do these things and dont do it myself.
-
So, In the face of massive negative reaction from hundreds of posters do you still in no way accept that your valuation of the frame might be wrong???
nay, I will get it fixed and re-sprayed, will find nice fork for it and once with the serial number date it, will sell it for nice money.
there is no rush, I will keep you posted.

this isn't a shop,
this is a bike forum.
if someone came into a pub offering to sell you a pint of piss......
your starting to look like a bit of a pleb mate
freedom of choice, if you like it you can have it, if you dont, you dont.
I am not arguing with your choice, I dont mind you not liking it. I only wonder if all of it is worth so much energy since it doesnt seem worth money :)
-
do you go to the shop and see something you cannot afford or dont like or dont like how much it costs and argue about it?
really?point is and always would be.
if you dont like it dont buy it.do I try to make you buy something?
no?
what is all of the bullshit about then?actually, keep going, since it seems to make you feel better. :)
-
mate.
people have repeatedly asked you to clarify:
what makes it a cinelli?
what on earth do you mean by NOS? Not Old Shite?
what is going to fix a seat cluster like that? It's totally fubared.
You're trying to say you can sell it for more elsewhere... the Royal Institute for the Blind?
these make sense.
I trusted the guy I bought it from + had a look at the seat cluster on some pics - will do my homework and will find more details, but am also sure that someone here will know if it is cinelli.
mate, whole that NOS thing, if you read my original post, is silly, I said that I bought it as NOS looking at poor quality pics but obviously it isnt - check my post again.
who will fix it? workshop who will also re-spray - got quoted £150 total - they said it is an easy fix.

So if it doesn't work 'here', you'll try and con someone else, somewhere else?
how? I straggle to understand that bit. if you are so smart and 'just like that' can work out that the frame is rubbish, how can I con you.
I am impressed with that logic. really
Yes it does, that the world is fucked and the less people like you the better.
no comments on that.
So, you don't sound like a twat. You are one....
you allowed to think what you like.
People like you add nothing to this forum, you can fuck the right off mate AFAIC. 'Here'.
people like me means what?
who are honest about what they sell but you dont like the price they want?all the best anyway.

Surely if you know that you can sell it for much more on ebay then you are the idiot for listing it here, not everyone else for slagging you off?
whatever makes you happy, I am not bothered. I suspect this kind of talk make you feel better? Differece then between us would be that I dont need to be rude to others to feel ok. Summarising I am glad I can help you feel better. Every little helps.
-
nuknow, let me try.
'people are TRYING to make you realize you won't go far with it' - what do you mean by that?
I suspect you mean to say 'here' 'won't go far with it HERE'? right?not long ago lad posted here 'little odd' custom gios frame, that received the same response. he was askin £200 and eventually listed it on ebay - not sure auction is finished but last time I had a look it was reaching £300. I acctually know about several examples like that. Doesnt it mean something to you? It does make me realize that most the time guys here are more then wrong about this stuff. Oh, yes they know load about bikes and frames but almost nothing about selling them.
So, getting to the point. You dont like it, dont buy it.
You think having fun from what people post here make me twat - well couldnt care less if I am honest. Unlike some I am not rude to anyone.
well done anyway
