Frame number 001731, I think it should be D01731, so April 1950. Probably a Club weight.
Judging by the description the frame has had one too many.....
The components look like new, Lytaloy headset, seat post clamp, Hobbs badge, Bayliss BB and that paintwork..!
There have been some ace Hobbs frames come up recently. -
It would be good to see you there @jeff80. There was an assortment of bikes last year ranging from 50s track running tubulars to contemporary all out touring bikes so you should be fine.
I guess it's all weather dependent but you should be fine and Old Terry's Lodge road should be fun as I'm sure it's just a track. -

Afraid not, the B47 had an aluminium cantle, was very narrow for racing and the B47 in question is in extremely good condition.
Your B17 is nice and with the desirable round stamp on the side, it's certainly worth looking after but I very much doubt it would command that sort of price. Although saying that, never say never.
