On the topic of drilling: does anyone drill forks (crabonz) locally? I would try to do it myself but I'd probably end up boring a hole in my own face.

Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of that from an aesthetic point of view either. I'm not sure if that top tube design was introduced in later models or if I'd only seen Dolans in a larger size so it wasn't as noticeable, but either way I don't like it.

That's nice! Yeah I'm just trying to decide between the two because I've heard a lot of people swear by Dolans but haven't really heard much about Modas. I've basically got the choice between getting one or waiting for a Precursa to appear and getting that instead.

Any other Moda owners on here that can give their opinions? I've been looking at the fresco:

I'm wondering if this would be better than a Dolan Precursa? Do you think you get the same bang for a similar amount of buck? Cheers.

300 for the f+f only plus postage would be stretching my budget a bit too far, but thanks for the offer anyway. I'm so sick off trawling through the classifieds and ebay! As the title says I'm after a 54cm track build, something like a dolan precursa would be good (hopefully this will give you a rough idea of the sort of budget I have). I'm looking for a complete bike but would consider a frame/frameset if anyone has one for sale. It will be used mostly on the street.

dolan experts: i'm 5 8", 31" inseam and i'm considering buying a 56. is this a terrible idea? i don't really have the option of getting on a giving it a go unfortunately so am looking for some guidance

yes it is cheap but i wouldn't want to pay upwards of £200 quid for something that might come out shit (even if it is custom). i think i'd rather go for a precursa frameset and am now kicking myself for not snapping up the one that went for £125 on here the other day. oh well.

i hope he was joking. has he started building the frames out of gold or something? i was seriously considering ordering a cannondale copy but i don't want to shell out £250 odd quid for it. if the price for the simple frame is 120 euro, smooth welds 30 euro, new drop outs around 30 euro (?) and paint around 20 euro (again this is a guess) i really don't see what could be making it so expensive.

okay, it's not completely accurate. they were waving machetes and imitation firearms at me, and one of them had a pelican on his lap and it didn't have a seatbelt or anything. thanks for being my shoulder to cry on.

some guy shouted at me today out of the window of his mate's car, the lights then turned red slightly down the road so i caught up and, as calmly as i could, i asked him if he'd said something to me, to which he replied in a very arrogant manner "i said BOO!". i managed to bite my lip and tell him that he was really funny and original etc (instead of the usual torrent of swear words) and later down the road i photographed the car and license plate. i just want to ask: is it worth me reporting it to the police or will it just be a frustrating waste of time? thanks in advance (for putting up with my cool story)

would it be worth starting a mielec gallery thread? people could post their mielecs, maybe frame geos, RAL colours, wait time etc. it would be useful for people who are thinking about ordering one

i ride a nasty metallic red conversion, to the untrained eye it just looks pink and rusty though. i just made the switch to risers, they're good fun
