Can anyone suggest how to navigate trails? Last summer i plotted routes on komoot, it shouted directions in my ears while i listened to audiobooks, but i was never quite convinced i was picking the right path, so had to get my phone out my elastic belt thing to check. It was almost great. But i'm sure there's a better way instead of getting my phone out all the time. I have a forerunner 935, and 'maybe' this has functionality to follow a map? i.e. lift my wrist and see if i'm going the right way. Is it easy to see if you're pointing the right way?

One of my sister's best friends was killed in Tulse Hill when she was hit by a car Wednesday (25 Jan) morning about 07:20. I gather she was just crossing the street, not on her bike. If anyone happened to be passing Thurlow Park Road, at the junction with Birkbeck Hill, SE21 and could provide the police with any information, could you please get in touch with them.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information is asked to contact the detectives from the SCIU on 020 8543 5157 or contact police by Twitter @MetCC.
You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.http://news.met.police.uk/news/appeal-following-fatal-collision-in-lambeth-216321

Ha, awesome @Fox. Your place looks great.
And thanks for the tip about Don't Move Improve. Hopefully I can go.
Random designer I got in touch with got a very rough quote from builder (as he hasn't seen the place), of about 50k before VAT and soft/hard furnishings. We don't have a set budget, but I won't be able to sell that price to my wife unless someone can give some reassurance we'd recoup costs when we came to sell, as people in the area seem to do with loft conversions.

We moved into our flat a few months ago, and I'm slowly compiling the list of changes I'd like to make. Any suggestions of what profession (builders, architects, designers?), or even specific recommendations of who I should get in touch with to talk about costs, timelines and feasibility? Do I get one person to quote for it all, then knock off things until it meets budget? Or get different people to do different bits?
Stuff I'm interested in getting quotes for (it's quite a long and varied lists - making it more difficult to know who to get in touch with):
- Reconfigure the back half of the flat (rip out bathroom and kitchen and open up / connect those two areas to dining area; build new room in opened up space for bathroom and install new bathroom; install kitchen in new spot; enlarge windows overlooking garden now bathroom and kitchen have been moved; remove wooden structure - the "boot room" - that sits on the metal platform on side of flat leading to stairs down to garden; uncover hidden fireplace, or remove chimney breast - probably pick the cheaper option)
- Built in L shaped wardrobes in loft room
- Built in under eaves storage in loft room
- Extension (new room) over rear of flat (very far down / not even on the priority list - but may as well throw it in)
- Floating alcove shelves in the lounge

I don't have a particularly clear picture of the story and how characters fit. But, still enjoying it.

Think most of the ones I listen to have been covered. Maybe not these:
FiveThirtyEight weekly (Yank) politics podcast. Listen to them tell you they weren't wrong
How to be a girl. Lady chats about her trans daughter is getting on
Reveal. Investigative journalism type stuff. Interesting one about the Pentagon Papers
The Memory Palace. That voice. Or is it just annoying? Not sure. -

The place we just moved in to has a small garden. It's currently all paved over. I'd like to dig up all the paving, add a new small patio for table a chairs, add some flower beds, a pathway and astroturf about 2 thirds of it for the wee man to play on.
Where / how do I start?
Buy a pneumatic drill to dig up rocks, then panic when I have no idea what to do next? Pay someone to dig it all up then someone else to make it look like a pretty garden? Call a landscape gardener to do the whole thing? I have no idea what plants and stuff I'd like yet. Ideally I'd just like some flower beds to actually exist so we can have a go at gardening, rather than getting someone in to do everything.
An idiot's guide to gardening tells me I like 'woodland' gardens. I don't know if 'woodland' is a bit ambitions for a space that's 3 metres wide by 8 metres long (ish).
Any tips on where to start or people to contact greatly appreciated.

Can anyone recommend a Putney-ish person to service / repair our boiler? The boiler's been playing up for 7 years, but ticking along. With the newborn in the house, I don't really want to risk a few days without heat again as it gets colder. I'm hoping they can either repair, or tell me if we should just replace it.
Cheers!

Annnnd back in the pool. Had my first pop at some drills that included butterfly this morning. Oh my... Am sure I got some shakes of the head from other pool users and the amount of unrest and splashing I was creating amidst the nice calm lengths of others. So - last year when I learned to crawl more efficiently, the answer was basically ' don't kick'. Massive difference that meant I could now swim for about an hour without to much problem from previous 20 mins killing myself. What's the secret for butterfly? I manage about two thirds of a length before almost passing out. First half I feel like i'm ahead of my wake, then just get caught up and become a flailing mess. Any tips? Just do it more? It was my first go I guess. Good workout though.

My mate has a font we'd like to use for address stickers. Can i email him the addresses, he can put them in a word doc in the font I want, then he emails it back to me to print onto labels in Word using mail merge? Or will my Word not recognise the font and everything go to pot when i try to open the doc?
If not obvious - i have no design skills.

These seems a little absurd even for a humble boast. Who has a £1k budget for a suit, especially an off the peg one?
It's for my wedding, so i'd like something nice. Options look to be:
- Off the peg - I guess up to 500.
- Made to measure - plenty places offer this for around 1k, but internet says people offering don't know what they're talking about - hence asking about 'better' value ready to wear.
- Bespoke - can get one for 1700. While this is 'good' value for what you'd normally pay, it's still bundles of cash, which we could spend elsewhere. The 'good' M2M people i'm aware of cost about this much and more.
- Off the peg - I guess up to 500.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good value suit for less than 1k? Have a fairly regular body shape.
Are places like M&S good enough that i may as well go there and get it altered, rather than go to one of the many made to measure places that try to fit that price bracket.
Any tips appreciated.

Can anyone recommend some cold weather running gear? I generally run in just light shorts and t-shirt, whatever the weather, sometimes adding a very light beanie. But it was about 2 degrees yesterday and only going to get colder. I hate getting hot when i'm running, but i'm sure there's a bit of kit out there that will suit.
Some sort of base layer? A jacket? Or will this be boil in the bag? Tights? Are they leg warmers i see people running with round their shins or do they protect calf muscles? Those? Any recommendations appreciated. I guess a top would be my first purchase.

I've moved to New York. Turns out cycling and swimming are two things this city is shitty for... As this is a swimming thread, i'll stick to the latter. There seem to be no pay per use swimming pools. Relly don't want to sign up to a gym as i hate them, but to even use the local YMCA just for swimming is $67 per month.. Only go about once a week. Annoying. Vaguely looking into swimming in the ocean on weekends, but would rather do it with a club or someone else who knows what they're doing.. On the plus side, i guess all the extra fat is making me more bouyant.
Cheers folks. I think the issue is that i want to be running like i know the area (i.e. nothing in hand), but i don't know where i'm going.. Might look into a map of surrey hills though as that does also sound sort of fun and probably doesn't take much more time than constantly getting my phone out. Reminds me of my first go navigating to Brighton on my bike. 12 pages of google maps, which i pulled out my backpack every single turn to check i was going the correct way. I am not a good navigator...
