Tourney mallet made. Is anyone near JD Sports tomorrow? (Tim?) Pick me up a couple of rolls of tennis racket grip? They've always got half price deals on most of their stuff. I'll sort cash out at PP in the afternoon.
Drill charged etc. Food update: I'll sort bread and salad out on way home after court prep. Have also tracked down my 'team' 'mates' coughs!
I'm also eager to sort a disc out for Danny's rear wheel that I'm borrowing if anyone happens to see any suitable signage on their travels...

you bunch if geeks!! (in a nice way.) Should have known my ignorance would solicit such a great response. Thankyou all. Probably going to go for the 'polo wheelset', not the radial. Shame, but I think in this instance, function over fashion is the right way to go.
Josh, your suggestion might be the way forward. I've emailed the shop to see if they either have an idea of the customs tax rates, or if they'd be up for sending them as a 'gift' or whatever the deal is. I'll PM you if I need your help to keep the costs down. Chris.

Advice please. Following my fairly disastrous fortnight of wheel destroying, I might of mentioned I'm hoping the birthday fairy will remember to get me a set of 48 spoke Chukkers for my 21st in a couple of weeks. Found some in the states at a fairly reasonable price (compared to Brick Lane Bikes anyway).

My question is: Which spoke pattern for the front is best/strongest? Their 'track' radial looks real pretty but is it up to polo? Or should I just stick with the 'polo wheelset' which is laced more conventionally?
(Thanks again for the loaner, Danny.)

If really stuck, I'll do a spot of reffing, but I'd rather others that don't have a 'job' yet stepped up. I am going to be 50%...alright, 35% of the BBQ though, which will be a good couple of hours around lunchtime. We also need hands on deck for bucket rattling/litter collecting/scoring etc. There must be jobs we haven't even thought of yet?
How about selling/taking donations for beer? Or is that just too complicated when there are several offies just down the road?
-
It's only money, Tim, and registration's going to cover most of it.
Donations. Did we talk about this before? I think people really won't mind bunging their loose change into a bucket if the weather's kind and we make sure they all have a good day. Would be awesome to have the account still in the black after the event.
Not sure how much cash I'm going to have spare above a hundred quid though. How quickly can you reimburse me?

Vegan cakes!? WTF?? I think you're right about the buying though, Danny. Chat Wednesday and hatch a plan innit. Have you got time to sort if I give you the cash?
Goal selling. Is that going to be necessary? Would it not be worth holding onto them for future events? I can store here, no problem.
Beer. Cool.
How are we doing with the prizes? Do we still need more? I've been speaking to Brick Lane Bikes this morning re buying a set of wheels. Mentioned the tourney and prizes/sponsorship. Waiting to hear back. Good?

Good call, Tim. Hopefully they'll last well beyond the tourney and it'll prove to be money well spent.
Danny, have you had a chance to talk to infinity foods yet? We need to buy on Friday innit. I'll sort all the BBQ expenses out until the account can pay me back.
Wood. What the f**k is happening? If we need to buy more we need to get our shit sorted!
Also, has anyone seen or heard anything from my team? Are they still alive?
Tim haz/had dee balls...that's if there are any left after the weekend?? Finishing in Hove around 4. Taking bike etc to work so will come straight to PP. Danny, I'll bring my new mallet so you're cool to use one of them. All good.
