mine turns my ringer off when i'm at uni, and at night if i'm at home. It also launches a music player and sets the media volume when i plug earphones in. Think it used to do more, but I stopped worrying so much about battery life when I got the nexus

Ah, just had a look, it means it will turn wifi on periodically to check location when it should be defaulted to off, it won't connect to networks and it won't have much impact on battery life, so you can just ignore that

spotted a guy cycling on a road bike with one foot with a road show clipped in, and the other in a trainer on a flat pedal. only problem is you need an extended battery case for the extra room for the induction loop, and the official ones which look passable still go for £20-40 with a battery you can't use with the mod. Charging dock is £5 and the case to get the induction loop out of is about £15.

Basically an induction loop from a pre connected to the pogo docking pins of the nexus. That version solders directly to the connectors on the main board, but i recon you should be able to get it to work soldering to the bits on the middle case

Totally going to do the wireless charging hack when I get some money, recon its doable without soldering to the main board as well. Best part is touchstone docks now only cost a fiver.

The magnet is very slightly smaller on the l shaped adaptor, might be worth trying to find someone with the older one and testing it out before you buy.

^^thought there were some odd compatibility issues even though they supposedly use the same wireless charging standard. Might work with the pre ones though seeing as Matias Duarte who's in charge of android now was in charge of palm when the pre was made.

I'm not sure that android sales will necessarily be a massive influence on whether they make an iOS app or not, they've recently released major updates to their search and mail apps for iOS, and immediately released an official youtube app when apple dropped their one. Keeping people using there services is probably up there in the list of priorities with android sales, lets not forget that google doesn't make money directly from the majority of android sales.
