Every Emotion is selfish we get upset, mourn and feel but these just stem from reflections of our selves. What we've lost, how old we are, what we haven't achieved. What we could have said.
The reason most people fixate on celebrities and not the millions of innocent people killed in war/famine/genocide is because it's easier to to relate to people who remind us of good things, things we aspire to, then we forget and carry on.
What we should be doing instead is taking the most of life and loving each other.
