Using Trafalgar Square as a central point, here are the distances to each of the drinks.

While it may not be 'out west' as much as some would like, the Raven is much further out than any of the other drinks. As has been noticed (venue hopping aside) the number of folk coming to drinks has been declining - particularly if you look at Souths which seems to have a winning formula of a great venue and only just over 3 miles from central - where a significant proportion of folk work. So what if the Rose is closer to Clapham (actually, as the crow flies, it is just closer to Hammersmith), there's a bloody great river in the way. Both the Rose and the Raven are North of Souths, South of Norths, and West of central.

Hammersmith may have been the original home of wests, but this is now, and we're looking for a good place - somewhere roughly west of central - to catch up and have a good time. If we can be located to encourage cross-fertilisation from other forumengers, then all the better. Venue wise - if one stands out head and shoulders above the other, then it's an easier solution.

yes it was a DC night. it was good to see you all and thanks for the help that i received from you guys (and gals). my stuff is save, i have offers to sleep at some of your places and still offers are coming in.

so thank you all for your support and keep me in your mind as it is always good to have options to make things work. also if someone hears or sees anything in the size of a 4 to 5 bedroom house for rent - i am listening :)

my day started early, breakfast with good company, the move, the pizza and guinnes in the park and the seconc half of the day was tuesday beers the whole half of it to be finished off at the DC. needless to say that i came home at 4.02am and felt rather dodgy all day.

Wht time did you all leave then? I 'guess' I left at 3:00(?) as I was home at 3:40ish....

Was good to meet all at the Roebuck. I promise I'll stay out to play longer next time, but I was hungry and Kirth is right. The food there sucks! Even if the strange woman was giving away free chips!

The food used to be nice- what happened to it?

I think maybe they got a new chef?

Also I have told them that the food is undercooked a bunch of times and they've not been too pleased to hear it.

Tried the Fajita wrap and I'd honestly give it an 8/10... The fucking fish though - what a stench, smelled off to me
