'Reclaiming' swastikas should be done unambiguously, imo.
that ain't a swastica though, it's the other way round.
erm, no. a swastika is just the symbol. it can be either way around. the Nazi symbol was a clockwise swastika, but swastika as a word and as a symbol has existed for a long time.
other people who use swastikas may attribute different meanings to each direction.
for a few years I wore a bracelet made of swastikas, since they could flip over they varied in direction. pretty sure it was never read as neo-nazi (green jade swastikas on red cord). was a useful mental aid for something but I don't wear it anymore.

nice double tag action today.
Abney Park cemetery was the location for a uni project when I was rather younger and not terribly familiar with london (had to get the train down from the provinces etc, hang on I still do that..), I ended up making a study of the 'peripheral' spaces between the gravestones and the end-of-garden walls where people went for a shag. It was... a peculiar choice.

In addition to that, I also have a broken saddle - Specialized windie xc 143mm - the saddle popped off the rails this morning and after a long while wrestling with it I gave in and got a new one. So it's all there and in reasonably good nick, but in 2 pieces... No idea why anyone would want it but will hang on to it for a while just in case.
And finally something that might be of use: Sidi blue insoles size 42, unworn, yours for a pint.
I'll be at norths and ladies drinks (briefly) this week. Let me know if you want the saddle tho, otherwise i'm not carrying it around.

including the rollers with the minitrack which has been seen on various threads.i like this shot of Lassie, waiting.

I'm thinking also of the blackspots mentioned elsewhere on the forum which are known cycling routes but quite quiet. Don't spend much time on the greenway these days, but you didn't used to see many groups that looked like trouble hanging around - they would get bored, not enough people to pick on. I guess I mean quiet places that are known to be used by cyclists - doesn't that make sense? (or not).
Lots of other variables in how safe somewhere is, sure. Overlooking and business (busy-ness?), escape routes etc.

sad to hear about bike-muggings on the Greenway. was happy when I first moved to london to find it nearby, cycled on it most days for my first two years in the city. could be a bit bleak, but the thick bramble hedge was full of wildlife, and every few benches there would be pairs of east european guys drinking and looking morose. always felt pretty safe, good memories of blackberry picking in the sun and elderflower collecting in the evening.
maybe the access closure and building works have affected it, you can't get on at Manor Rd so there is a big secluded section. also, there is probably an unfortunate correlation whereby the more a place is used by cyclists, the more unscrupulous types think to go there and rob them...

preview's really useful. should be on there already unless you've deleted it, or if you still have the OS disks it's a system app on there.
if it's just that PDFs are opening in the wrong app, ctrl+click a PDF -> Open with -> Other... -> browse and select Preview, check the Always Open With box before you hit Open.

lots of apples. they fill you up, plus I think apples/cider vinegar are supposed to have some diet-supressing qualities. housemate of mine swore by 4-apples-a-day diet when she wanted to lose weight, that's 4 apples a day in addition to whatever you normally eat, but you probably won't want to eat quite so much of it.
I have no self-control and just eat whatever I want whenever I want, but I have found it helpful to not eat as routine. ie. not feel like you have to eat the same sort of amount everyday. The problem with this is that I feel like whatever transport costs I save by cycling I pay in extra food...

just edited a bit, it had a random extra loop up rotherhithe new rd which I'm fairly sure they didn't do...
I'd also intended to emerge onto Queens Rd rather closer to the pub than we did, but missed the turnings left, so the route from Burgess Park didn't have much to recommend it over the canal route (except for marginally less mugger potential, perhaps). Should have gone studholme-asylum-clifton way-pomeroy...
oh, sorry.
beautiful swan though.
