Object was teaching it at trixiedix a couple of weeks ago
its a bit like the ABS of skidding, you keep the pedals stationary as you bounce the back wheel up and down- each time the back wheel comes down it is actually going very slightly in reverse
it does not require the counterintuitive throwing your weight over the handlebars of a proper skid

i was looking at ordering swrve stuff, it appears if you get a couple of items it will still be cheaper to ship from the USA than order in the UK (though if customs decide to tax it then you are onto a loser)
judging by comments about them as a company I am sure if you asked them nicely they could send it as a gift and email the invoice seperately

this is quite interesting:
advocating making the decision to not have children to slow population growth..
makes sense in theory, not so sure in practice..

I saw a unipak today running single speed and no back brake.
Given the accounts of how bad everything is on those bikes I cannot imagine the one brake would suffice in an emergency, and I doubt any riders of such machines have Ted Shred's bike handling skills.
Am concerned the proud unipaker will be an organ donor pretty soon.

you are jealous others have a longer commute than you do
it seems perfectly sensible to make a diversion to shoreditch on the way home from work (which should be from haymarket to kew)
your non cycling friends think you have a new tourettes tick when you keep interrupting conversations to shout "do a skid" at passing cyclists

This thread almost feels like a lonely hearts column where we try to make ourselves sound more interesting and imply we have a life outside of riding bikes.
Some of the other things that can make me feel excited about life - fencing (sport not white picket), yoga, good food (making or consuming), great coffee (making or consuming), music, DJ culture, dancing until sunrise.

Answer, no. When I was a courier, Oxford St was the worst place for this stuff. I always thought of it as parents using their pushchair as a minesweeper "at least it won't be me that gets hurt".
Fuckwits.Strangely enough the last one was on Oxford St this evening.
In medieval times you could imagine them getting their children to look over the parapets during a siege.

In the last week I have had 3 near misses with kids when cycling past parked vehicles.
Twice a parent has been pushing a young (walking) child out into the street in front of themselves and once they were pushing a pram out. Each time the parent involved has given me an indignant look, I am sure they are the same kind of people who drive really dangerously whilst proudly displaying the "baby on board" sign in their rear window.
The last person I can remember who used other humans as a passive defense was Saddam Hussain and I don't think it earned him many +rep points.
It is quite terrifyingly stupid of them to push a child out when they themselves can even see what is coming. I guess this could be eligible for some kind of 2nd generation Darwin Award where if they are so retarded maybe their children are not particularly viable human beings either.

Specialise in whole leaf tea at very reasonable prices, plus they sell the gaiwan cups to make a proper cup of tea.
