Are you in catford now? The cat killer is still in operation? Our plan is to eventually let them out, but the little one is so unafraid of everything and fearless I worry she will just walk up to anyone.
Mental your cat went up there. I need to stop underestimating these guys, anything is possible if you are a feline it would seem.

Our kitten went missing this morning. Turned the house upside down over the space of two hours searching for her (since shes only 3 months she is in the house only, we have been diligently keeping doors and windows shut). Turns out I had forgotten the upstairs bedroom window slightly open. I eventually found her outside in the front garden terrified and hiding behind a plant pot. Crazy kitten either jumped or fell. She has a little limp, but is putting weight on it and is back to games as usual now.
Still can't believe she got up there, I'm pretty certain she can't jump high enough to reach the window sill so only explanation is she pulled herself up the curtains. I feel so bad that I left it open like that but am so glad she is back safe and sound. Have to up my cat dad game if I'm going to get her through to cathood.

I don't think so. Not without flipping them over to finish the cuts. Cross cut capacity is 220 x 60mm on that one. It's possible they wont fit under the blade either.
255mm has a capacity of 300 x 80 so again not quite enough depth to go all the way through. But if they can fit under the blade and you are happy to flip then it's possible. I'll try pop in some 100mm material under mine later and let you know, but it might be worth going even bigger (v expensive though)

Pay someone. Seriously, one of those jobs that might just break you physically. I forked out to have it done on my multi layer 1930s lounge. Took a very burly professional plasterer a full day of suffering to get the job done. When I popped my head in around 6pm and saw his face I knew I made the right choice to pay someone. He was broken.
Edit. Just realised that you aren't after replastering afterwards? Might be impossible to do it cleanly enough to leave a paintable finish if it's very old and many layers.

Update on mummy cat, she's totally back to normal now. Ate loads today and happy to wrestle with her kitten again.
Although I managed to give her flashbacks earlier. She was sleeping and I went to grab a towel for a shower and as soon as she saw it she bolted downstairs and hid under the sofa. Does towel phobia have a name?

I typed out a proper response, then the kitten came, jumped on the keyboard and suddenly its gone.
Shorter version: Massive improvement. Tentative at first when I got home, but I busted open a can of tuna and that all changed. She wolfed it down, and then demanded more food, so topped her up with some turkey dried food which she also devoured. She is now accepting my petting, although will not allow me to pick her up yet. I think she's still upset with me / thinks I'm going to bundle her up again, as Mrs Hovis is able to pick her up just fine. Her limp is nearly gone too.

Wow, that sounds utterly horrendous. My much much milder version of the same process just involved the kitten which I had put in a separate carrier first yelling in distress and clawing the carrier grill trying to get out. Made my very soft heart sink.
I also lamented our choice of size for our new bed. A cat sat at the center point of the underside of a super king cannot be reached by normal length limbs. Had to poke her out with a broom.
I'm so glad I had no pee/poo/curtain blend to contend with.

Thanks for the advice. I just pinned her to the ground and then put the towel over her and wrapped it tight. I think I may have hurt her the first time when I didn't use a towel and just tried to push her in. She obviously just clawed the sides of the carrier and used all her might to stop me pushing her all the way, so I may have hurt her then. She never made a sound though.
I've never tried lifting her by the scuff, does it stop them from wriggling around / claws of death?
Gave a vet a call and she reckoned to give it a few days to see if she improves and if not to bring her in. She can put weight on the leg though so I'm hoping its just a sprain or something.
Arrgghh. My first experience of being responsible for another create and I've screwed up within days.

So my cat (the mother) is very distressed at the minute. I took them both in to the vet yesterday for a vaccination, and since then she has developed a limp, stopped eating and does not like being petted or touched. She's also stopped using the litter tray.
I had a really hard time getting her in to the carrier box. I ended up having throw a towel over her and bundling her up tightly before putting her in.
Does anyone have any advice on what I can do? Could it be a reaction to the vaccination? Or my manhandling has upset her? Kitten is business as usual, running around with no issues.

I'd say you'll want to get hold of the proper circular saw and make yourself a saw guide out of some scrap sheet wood.
You could do it with a jigsaw if you set up straight edges etc, but they never cut perfectly straight so you'll have to spend time planing all the edges straight afterwards.
So I've amassed a skip bags worth of diy waste (mainly rubble and stones) that I want rid of. Lewisham recycling centre won't accept DIY. Other than dumping it on beddlestead or pilgrims way, what options do I have to get rid of it?
