@hoefla Not fostering them, we adopted ! Tortie is ridiculously cute, which unfortunately means she getting the bulk of the attention.
@squidink Amazing. I hope she is good with moths too as we are getting more hovering our wardrobes than we would like.
I've just been informed by Mrs Hovis that she has already unleashed them into the wider home. Apparently they like the underside of the shoe rack.

Worth a look at underlay + shingles rather than a felt roll. Costs a bit more upfront but they should last a lot longer.
Regarding cutting sheet goods, you could ask the supplier to cut it to size for you. Usually a free service in places like B&Q and Selco. (Not Wickes). Downside is they can be off by a couple of mm, (mitigated by taking a tape measure with you and being pushy), and you would need to be double sure of the size.
Screwfix do a nice plunge saw for £100 or so if you ever fancy doing sheet cuts yourself. I've been using mine for so many things now and it's such a joy to use. Wish I'd bought it sooner.

Enter mother and 12 week old kitten to the Hovis household. From the lovely folk at Celia Hammond cat rescue centre in Lewisham. They have spent two nights in our house now, just keeping them in our kitchen living space area for now where they have a nice view of our garden and plenty of string to play with.
They seem to be settling nicely, although the little one doesn't seem to be eating much yet. Loves to play and is quite handy at catching flies. Mother seems to just mope about not doing very much, but does like attention and a cuddle. Am hoping she will liven up eventually, I'm guessing being separated from the rest of her litter and new surroundings is perhaps rather stressful. She's rather skinny so need to fatten her up a bit.
My plan is to give them access to the rest of the house tonight, although I worry about forgetting windows open and them bolting. Am trying to get in the habit of keeping all the doors and windows closed but its hard in this heat.
Anyways, not really sure why I'm writing all this, just sharing. Must be honest but I don't feel we have developed any kind of bond with them yet, which I think is also why we can't think of any names for them. Fingers crossed this changes soon.

Have some split and slightly peeling ceiling paint to sort out due to a water spillage from the floor above. Would it be totally stupid to try and squeeze some super glue on it to hold it together before prime and paint? It's about 50mm dia circle in size hanging off about 1/3rd of its circumference.

Just saw this. No left over underlay I'm afraid. I do have a little over half a pack of grey 4 tab shingles if that's of any use to you.
