Im pretty sure campag gear cable ends are a bit smaller than shimano. Shimano cables can get stuck in campag levers. Some people file the head a bit to make it smaller, dont see why this wouldnt work.

Got my new ball bearings yesterday and installed the campag cup and cone BB last night, spins like a dream! To hell with cartridge BB's!
