^^^ I was there on my bike last year, take loads of money, Bruge is extraordinarily beautiful and expensive.
I headed around the trenches and first world war memorials, the Kemmelburg, Solesnes. I kept finding all sorts of tiny little cemeteries from small half forgotten battles, then went over to Holland to tilt at windmills. Shame I can't go with you this time, enjoy! -

take some food, put it down near the dog, and let the dog get to know you.
I have caught and rehomed strays before and this usually works, but you have to be patient and quiet to gain the dog's trust. Stick a lead on it and try and take it home and you will freak it out and it will be a disaster.
Just let the dog come to you, until it lets you stroke it, then get it to follow you a bit, putting food down all the time (get a box of dog biscuits). You want it to want to follow you.

Take the cable off the mech, does it travel all the way from one end of the cassette to the other by hand?
If yes then the fault is with the shifter.
If no the limit screws need adjusting. -

despite winning the Google Specialized "Innovate or Die" award they never went into production. They have offered me the design if I can raise funds to put it into production. I started to put together a business case to get these into production but it has so many obstacles I had to give up. Next year I might get funded to spend enough time overcoming the obstacles to run a trial in Ethiopia, but I won't know for a while. -
Leaving home in the dark, watching the sunrise just as I get to work, watching it set then leaving work in the dark to ride home.

Rear entry because the clearances are so tight you can't get the wheel out the other way. No need for long slots because they are for use with gears, not fixed.

what an epic ride, first she crashed, then she attacked and held on for most of a lap on her own, and I thought she had blown it when she was caught, but she timed her sprint to perfection. -
BW land is public, but they have a "no cycling" byelaw, and the permit is their way of allowing cycling without the cyclist breaking the byelaw. They don't though have a meaningful system for enforcement, it used to be one patrol officer per canal, and cycling without a permit wasn't high on their list of things to do, mostly it was boat licences, so the chances of being stopped are small and the chance of being prosecuted even smaller.
