Brown brogues and laces. Minimal lace? Lots of lace?
Got my favourite pair back from the cobblers this afternoon (re-heel with quarter steel and new over soles) and replaced the laces at the same time. New laces a bit longer than the old ones and I'm struggling with the look.
By the way - not for you Londoners of course - but the traditional cobblers just off Eastgate Street in Gloucester are magnificent. Perfection of a job and £25 including sorting out the stitching on Mrs Beaunidles Bally boots. I rate that as awesome value,

Then it needs to be a Mk1 Cooperalike with a vtec conversion or perhaps a rear bike-engine conversion with a nice sequential gearbox. Nope. V-Tec all the way! A well built one will give you all the reliability, eighty five tonnes of grin and a lot of stealth go.
What's not to like?
I've even seen a couple where they avoided adding the four inches into the front arches.

Ha! It ain't carpet buddy boy! Seriously though, not top flight, but I can see where he's going with this style development. And I rather like it. It's not been bought as an investment, but because a) I like it and b) It's going to work really well in a particular room in my house.
Just wondered, critically, what you guys reckon.

I have a bit similar to you Constable Savage - although not as severe I suppose. I had to give up competitive shooting as I just couldn't stand the leather straps wrapped round your body shooting rifle, and working under a sink or a car dashboard makes me feel physically ill.
Oddly, caves and lifts etc don't bother me in the slightest - it's restriction of physical movement that gets me. If I wasn't mad when you put me in a straightjacket I would be shortly afterwards....

Anyone got any comments on this chap's work? Chrismardon.co.uk
Yes, I'm looking for validation as I just bought the second from left at the top, "Stood by the lake". About three by four feet, acrylic on canvas.
He seems to be finding his feet stylistically - £175 from a solo exhibition in Bristol at a community gallery seems bloody good value to me.

This morning I commuted from my bedroom to the study via the bathroom detour. Then after lunch I commuted to the kid's playroom downstairs so that I can use the Mac they have appropriated because it's screen is better than the one I have in the office for a video conference (and also so that I can open the french windows into the garden and stand outside with a fag occasionally to alleviate the boredom of listening to German technicians drone on about self fluxing coatings).
Don't hate me :-)
I shall be leaving shortly to commute to my son's playgroup with a trailer pulled behind the CX to pick him up, and come back via Gloucester Quays with possibly a small drinkie to alleviate the strain of it all.

Gone through a bit of a watch obsession over the last year. I've bought, sold and traded Rolex Explorer II, Breitling Steelfish, Breitling Chronomat 44, IWC Aquatimer and Panerai PAM0048.
Now settled on a three watch collection. JLC Master Hometime for dress and travelling, a Tudor Heritage Ranger (that I've had converted to destro for comfort - quite a sticky out crown) for a normal day in the office and a dirty secret of a Steinhart Vintage Military (very high end quality Lolex if I'm honest) for a weekend beater.
I do keep hovering over the button for a JLC Reverso Tribute to 1931 - but I'm managing to resist. It's been three months since I've bought or flipped a watch and I've made an internal promise to myself to hang out to year's end to make sure I have the disease under control.

Running on the balls of your feet - is this even a real thing?
My good woman and myself entered into another bottle of Fleurie bet half an hour ago (I'm currently up by two) where she informed me that experienced runners do not land on their heels, but on the balls of their feet.
I am not a runner. I have a plastic patella of 25 years vintage and I'm not fucking with that shit (which is why I ride).
But seriously, have I just lost a bottle of wine? How can anything other than a horse land on it's toes at full sprint? Surely it's heel, ball and take off on the toes?

Right, need to shed some bikes as the stable is a little on the full side - you can tell by the dust on the frames that these haven't exactly had a lot of use lately!
Not posting prices as I haven't given it that much thought. If something grabs you then please PM and we'll talk.
First a GT beach cruiser. Set up in the photo at my size (six one), no idea of frame size. Shotblasted and powder coated white - about ten miles since build.

Next a nice little GT steel road build - yeah, I know the chain needs to lose a link and that the rear cable isn't right. Otherwise all NOS parts, pretty light and fast. About two miles since build. Not a scratch on it.
A nice 1970's Peugeot step through. Sandblasted and powder coated, custom head badge and wicker picnic basket. Set up for Mrs BeauNidle (five six).
The clockwork Orange. Pashley post bike, again shotblasted and powder coated. It doesn't get any more orange than this! About 100 miles since build.

Felt curbside. Light, fast and lovely (even if the felt welds aren't the prettiest, the tube shaping is really nice). Set up here for five eleven.

All of the bikes are with me in South Wales, but can deliver to west London given notice.
Ah well, just punting it out there.

It's vile and nasty and designed to rile. With cunning too (the UK accent).
It will also not work.
It's a bit like 911 stopped highjacking of aircraft for ever - someone tries to take over a plane now and the passengers will tear him to bits.
All that will happen is that the US will intensify airstrikes against the NLDS as they should and must do. I'm only thankful that Mr Foley's parents must have already gone through much of the grieving process over the last two years knowing that they were unlikely to see their son alive again.
Unbelievable what the dirty human soul is capable of doing when manipulated, what we are seeing here is mob rule in it's worst incarnation.
Stop the planet please as I wish to get off.

Just seen an announcement from Eddie Platts that he's just sold the TZUK forum. Nobody buys without monetizing so not looking good. Hope I'm wrong.
