Saw Vitalic on saturday night, was a lot harder than I expected. I think because he had released things like voyager which is so poppy. Was at platform (the old arches), was so weird seeing vitalic in the arches in 2024, felt like being back 20 years.
Out of there and round the corner and dixon was playing subculture. The guy is so good. Brilliant set.

I got a formula 1 (the alarm version) as a gift. It's got a really comforting, heavy weight to it, but it's just that bit too shiny. Still wear it occasionally but the 'my first (swiss) watch' thing kind of rings true. Quite a few blogs talk about the formula 1 as the gateway to other watches and it was kind of that for me.
I always had my eye on a few different things, like 'gonna get a panerai when X happens' etc and then I got this shiny tag and was like ok thats nice but not what I would have chosen, but hey its nice and what a great gift. So I wore it and liked it, and thought maybe I should stop looking at watches from afar so much and actually just make a call on getting one that i would choose.
So I think what it did for me was say to me 'okay now go for that one...which you actually want', instead of it just being on a list of things to do (at some indeterminate point).

Took the wheel off my road bike while its on the trainer, and it is sitting next to my mid 80s colnago sprint. Have to say it looks great and suddenly really tempting to give it the MGOOF treatment.
Dont think I will as it was a long term project and looks lovely as it is but theres just a wee part of me that says do it.

Hmm, replace them with the ripple soles? :)
I guess you must have the vibram ones, they look really nice but no idea how they wear. Sounds like the dreaded crepe sole slip you get with clarks.
When I got mine they came with a lovely little tube of italian leather cream, after that I've used a mix of good quality wax polish I think. Might have even had the dubbin out when I wore them on a few hill walks or in the snow. They've been around for so long now I've probably used all sorts of products and what I had at the time. Could do with a polish now so thanks for the reminder.

Cheers, having a look now.
I wear a suit to work most days and have done for the last 17 years so things sometimes need to be shaken up a bit or get some new inspiration. I do love knitted toes for a bit of texture.
Everything needs to be fairly monochrome as I have to appear in court. Although I forgot I had an online hearing today and turned up in a universal works db jacket with an officine generale roll neck underneath. Weather appropriate but not court appropriate. Just as well I had a shirt and tie in a drawer...
