"uh look at my shite bike made out of crap and covered in ironic rust. I'm so unpredictable that I've gone and put white deep-V rims on it. That's the thing about me, you think you've got me figured out but you don't....by the way I don't even care if it gets stolen"

And this is how cast lugs are made:

http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr314/jimr2527/scan0006.jpgSome great links there Rowan. It would seem that those Hetchins lugs are the real deal. While other builders may have beaten them over the years for ornateness, when you consider the pressed lug material that they started with it really puts the time and effort that went into achieving that finished product into perspective.

Five pages of lug loveliness:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/10703870@N06/page98/Lovely, they remind me of something you might find in the costume department of some crazy fantasy epic!
Looking at those pages got me wondering! How can you tell the difference between pressed lugs and cast lugs?

Ashamed to admit I'd never sat on a Brooks until today. Saw a guy unfolding a Brompton with one on it, so I went up and asked if he'd mind if I sat on it. Apparently I'm a trustworthy looking fellow because he let me. Instantly, it felt amazing, better than any saddle I've ever been on and this is just from ten seconds in a stationary position. I'll certainly invest in one once i've got a bit of spare cash. It was the standard B17 as far as I know.
