Found so many problems over the last month but it’s coming together slowly, got the electrics sorted, new blaupunkt Bremen stereo and alarm system installed. Had a lot of problems with the gearbox, radiator, a fair few leaks in the engine and air suspension and steering box was on the way out. Tried to make it as solid and useable as possible but it’s a long road ahead. Switched tires to something beefier too and found some overfinch clear light covers on ebay. Gonna bite the bullet and order some of the Rostyle wheels for that older classic 2 door look along with some older decals.

I noticed last year they started charging ridiculous prices. 75k for Mosers training bike was a tad higher than I expected. I reckon their overheads are pretty high, the cafe part of their shop was rammed out at lunchtimes and they also opened another cafe (I looked at the same space but rent was too high) right before Covid lockdown. I tried to buy a Coca Cola water bottle of them last summer one of the free ones they throw out at the Tour de France, they wanted 100€ but there’s folk out there that will pay that so the market for them is there. And when they do buy second hand stuff off the public they’re looking for a huge markup. It’s a lovely shop to visit and they used to do a flea market once in a while. Velociao is the go to store over here in Berlin for classic stuff and restaurations, they don’t really advertise what they have anymore but the owner Robert is always helpful for certain bits etc. There’s a member here who works for steelvintage I think @Sig_Arlecchino he might have some info, overall fairplay to them for making a passion into a business. I’ve seen the same thing with the vinyl record business over the last year some folk will pay crazy prices so the market however niche explains the markups

Managed to finally lace up a pair of surly singlespeed hubs for my 1fg. Bought a 16t halo clickster from an lbs, wanted to try a white industries but they only had 18t. They’re a lot heavier than the Chris kings but nice solid wheels.
Then switched the tires to some Continental cross country’s in 1.5” on my Franck Roman. Really transformed the ride compared to the Maxxis Larsen TT in 2”, I used to use cross countries every winter in the 90’s and was happy to find a pair for cheap forgot how quick they feel. Next step is to switch the brakes to some old xt or ritchey cantis I found in the shed. -
I’ve already found a few 🤣. Pretty lucky though as it only had one owner from new a dentist who collects cars, came with a full service history, bought in Germany in 1993 but lived in Marbella and garaged. I looked at some really shite ones over the last few months and luckily stumbled onto this one by chance

I’m in Berlin so it’s not a classic yet until it hits 30yrs. The last 3 years we’ve been leasing, the cost was between 2-3k€ a month for an autobiography and I reckon avg 4K a year service cost. Just got sick of all the electrical stuff playing up all the time. I have a feeling they might lease an audi r4 or something for running around the city if the rangey doesn’t work out. Drives like a boat but loving it atm and don’t get as many dirty looks!!

Finally picked up this 1992/93 rangey Vogue yesterday (hard to get it registered over xmas), new company car as the lease is up on the black one next month. Gotta get the central locking sorted out, gonna tint the back windows and fit a decent stereo. 1st time dealing with a classic car over here so gonna be a steep learning curve.

@dancing james just out of curiosity are the rivets silver or copper? I got a white copper rivet swallow that was told was one of one off a mate (the one top right)

I’ve got a leased car from work, you wouldn’t believe the amount of problems I’ve had with the electronic gubbins... used to get a low tire pressure fault from the spare tire, just turning on the screens in the back seats caused the Bluetooth to drop out every 20 seconds, rear tailgate would say open so couldn’t lock the car, every 3-4 months was back at the dealer with never a clear answer just a lot of “must need a software update”.
Finally gave up and convinced boss to buy a ‘93 car and lease a cheaper Audi Rs4 estate for running around.... saw some really nice classic cars last week when I signed the papers , place seems to be a museum/private car storage/classic workshops and classic dealers all in one https://remise.de/berlin -

Here’s mine bought it in the early 90’s, my 1st big insurance payout after getting hit by a truck. Couple of years ago a mate got all the gold bits new for it then Breitling asked if I wanted the watch and bracelet done in a satin finish (used to be polished but was scratched up). Still my daily watch
I’m planning on keeping them for an all black Kirk build, but if I get lazy I’ll hit you up lad
