Only other thing of note is that the freehub noise from the Royce hub is fucking horrible. Really tinny and loud. Do not like-my white industries hub sounds like a swiss made clock by comparison. Annoying but what can you do?
I had the same problem a few years ago, I just needed to regrease the hub, dirt seems to get in on the driveside and works it way through to the pawls

Mikey sorry to tell you this but you have the products mixed up the bag you have in the picture is a Baicylon Messenger Large by Bagjack (99euros rrp) not the Bagjack Alleycat (199euros rrp), the Baicylon brand is the fashion line while the Bagjack brand is the working/courier line, they are totally different in build and material quality

^^ So your tactic is to fight back if someone decided to bother you?
Ed its a real shame but it is, the moment the fellow came towards me I would of hit him first and then hopefully rob him of his wallet aswell,
I honestly didn't start out like this, but that's how I've evolved, I'm not proud or happy about it and tend to ride less and less on roads, it actually saddens me riding in the UK compared to other countries -

B P Mitchell employ violent thugs.
Such a shame, I know a few folk that I've tried to get into cycling that have had incidents like this and its just put them right off, personally I feel that there is no help from the police or legislature when dealing with folk like this, I reckon a lot of road users see cyclists as easy targets so I carry around a few splinters of sparkplug ceramic and my ULock in my left hand,
this is my next little project for added peace of mind on my cruiser

It's so sad that this is true, I think the most you get is 18 months suspended as long as you call 999 straight away and report the so called accident you can getaway pretty easily, this also works when running over a pedestrian in a car when they are on the pavement, just explain that the car acted in an erratic manner as long as there is no proof that you planned the "accident" you'll be fine in the UK

Just got back from an awesome few days in Berlin and want to thank all the contributors to this awesome Thread!
Landed on a late EasyJet flight to Tegel Airport, just walked to the S-Bahn and luckily the trains were still running. Ignored all the advice and didn't buy a ticket (I felt lucky)..
My first advice would be learn how to read the subway map before you arrive.. its not intuitively friendly to read at first or do what I did and ask someone/anyone.
Glad to hear you had an awesome time it just gets better in the summer!
lol, my first advice would be to find out where you are though, then the maps become easier, I reckon you landed at Schönefeld! -

I heard there was a 'three strikes' rule?
I don't have any strikes, seems a waste not to use them.Is this the place?
http://www.freitag.ch/store-finder#freitagstoreberlin
(doesn't look like a free bike store)I never said its a free bike store, if you want to borrow a bike for free go there, but then again it sounds like a lot more fun running from the polizei, try that instead or better yet go for May Day and see how the police are, also try the 'frog' march when heading to passport control, they always laugh at that one, best of luck and happy times

Kopps?
http://veganpeasantcatering.com/2013/01/vegan-berlin-part-3/
Can't stand Kopp's, went there around Christmas as my friend's name is also Kopp and it was near Koppenplatz, seemed a drunken karma thing to do, just really weird experience and not great food
^^^ +1 Hingis, I always see people getting caught

Thought I'd get back to a few of my old projects this weekend
Finally got the rear wheel built, threw it on and beat the crap out of the bike yesterday to make sure the welds would hold up, went really well but bent the rear hub axle, still rides ok and happy with the strength test so just gotta finish smoothing and then paint

still gotta find a cheap saddle that I like the look of -

If there's a Sunday near the start of your trip, buy a bike from the fleamarket at Mauerpark or the one near Badeschiff for around €40 and a crap lock for €5, it will be cheaper than any rental bikes and more fun anyway.
+1 ,but Mauerpark has been getting a tad more expensive for bikes over the last couple of years and loads of student buyers, I've bought a Cannondale and a nice folder for 20 euros
from there, but its only open on sunday,
If you enjoy the bargaining aspect and want something cheaper go to Kottebusser Brucke on any day, the bikes for sale are locked up on the north/east side of the bridge railings, just stand around looking at whichever one takes your fancy and within 30 secs a turkish gentleman will help you with your choice, for a cheap lock go to the south west corner of the bridge and look east , there's a cheap little bike store that sell lights/locks etc on the corner, then ride directly south to Hasenheide Park about 1km south and watch the the turks and the Nigerians selling bud, its pretty entertaining on a sunny afternoonforget the DBahn bike rentals way too expensive

I think its a better idea to write to the local mp, as the drivers married to the owner of the pet store (she first denied even knowing the driver saying it was just some random bloke who bought one of her hoodies)
