Had some trouble getting the Colnago rideable. The axle on the rear hub is dangerously short, I think it was a Tune custom built hub for MTB dropped it at a wheelbuilder I heard of through Strislands instagram, hopefully he’ll find a way. I didn’t like the look of the surly bars but had some Renthal jumpbars knocking around. Frames a bit small and having a right pain with the shifter/ derailleur can only get 5 gears unfortunately.

@ricky2slicky that paint job looks in great condition, lovely bike

Thanks @ectoplasmosis
Gonna try and tackle this old Colnago Maxim today, it’s soooo heavy. Got some nice bits in the parts bin, gonna go with a surly sunrise bar for that cruiser feeling and a 1x9 drivetrain with a strisland chainring that I’ve had for a few years sitting on a shelf. I’ve got some gravelkings too to try out. -
@MisterMikkel @kjlem thanks lads. It was always a tad small for me, took off the expensive retro parts for another build. He’s done about 250km on it in the last week.

I’m looking for some opinions on using an 8 speed shimano shifter with a 9 speed shimano rear derailleur. I haven’t bought the cassette or chain yet. Should I buy an 8 speed cassette and chain or 9 speed (and hope to find a 9 speed matching shifter in the future)?
According to this chart if I route the rear cable in the hubbub style the pull ratio would work 8 speed shifter, 9 speed cassette and derailleur (missing one gear). What would you guys do? -

The metronomes a funny little watch, the hand thing it does makes me smile when it goes back to the time function, had to change the strap to a snakeskin as the Japanese market have small wrists.
I had a look at that Longines was also recommended by a mate at Wempe but was really looking for a gold face watch.
@hang_on_voltaire I love the bullet bracelets tried on a new model but my old one has so much sentimental meaning to me I felt like I’d be cheating. -

I got this Seiko metronome for Xmas from my gf and bought her Tissot which I changed the strap and now wear….unfortunately she wants it back so was looking at a Tudor Chrono in steel and gold, think it’s too busy and too similar to a Breitling I have so think I’m gonna go for a Tudor black bay steel and gold

Few pop ups but works pretty well for live tv -
The really early ones were made in Chicago but since early 80’s all were made in Waterford, same place that made frames for Rivendell and others. Sad they just closed this summer. They’re so underrated outside the US, I got a lot of love for rare schwinn’s

I finished my Colnago beater unfortunately an inch or two small for me so plan is to transfer the parts to a beat up yo eddy frame after a little welding. And decided to build up my non Paul Sadoff Rock Lobster (Merlin UK) , I’ve got a nice race face flite saddle and looked around the parts bin for as much race face parts I have without spending too much money.
