Don’t let it get you down Nef, the last few years I’ve been working for a firm that lists me as a ‘hand worker’ (living in Germany). In Berlin you get that ‘looked down upon attitude’ but outside of the city they love it! Had to get a visa because of Brexit and was shocked how impressed they were that I was a manual labour worker. Most of the clients I deal with are folk that have bought apartments ranging from 1m to 4m€ and the crap and attitudes I have to deal with is sometimes ridiculous (often a tad rude). I always wear an old hi viz jacket, dirty overalls etc so they take me seriously 😂. It’s that whole judging a book by its cover type thing until they notice I’m wearing a Rolex Batgirl and drive a Rangey Autobiography as the company car.

I used the schwalbe ice spikers for snowy forest riding and was really impressed, was worried at first if I hit any tarmac but after a few rides it seemed to bed in the spikes and made them less sketchy. They were a lot more durable than I expected. I’d definitely recommend spikes, in the 90’s I used conti 1.5 cross country which cut through the snow pretty well but were a tad sketchy on ice.

Trying to help a mate out and shift a few of his bikes. Really not too sure what to ask hopefully someone can point me in the right range.
1st.. Cannondale Synapse Hi mod black inc. Disc 2016. In good condition he bought it new for 8k€ from bike24. He’s done around 2000km on it I’d say. I’ve done the maintenance on it each year, same tires as when he bought it. Hasn’t been ridden in the last 2yrs.Next is a colnago c59 disc but with a campy super record eps groupset and the formula brakes. It’s this but with a campy gears etc. I’ve got no clue on this it was 9500€ in the summer of 2013, good condition with less than 2000 miles on it. Gonna take some pics tomorrow https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/bikes/road-bikes/colnago-c59-disc-review/
And a Cannondale slate force 1 from 2016
He’s done about 200km on it. It’s the black and purple one (I’ll take some pics tomorrow). The wheels were recalled by Cannondale a month or two after he got it so the rims were replaced by Cannondale through bike24 I think he spent around 3500€ on it https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/bikes/road-bikes/cannondale-slate-force-1-review/Thanks for any help lads

@Z4k really feel for you lad, personally I blame the seller. I sold a bike for 1800€ on Monday only wanted it picked up. A lad from Norway wanted it really badly, was so concerned about packaging it up correctly that I ended up having a mate package it and make the deal also insisted that it was insured fully for 2k. Ended up costing me a few hundred but I can sleep at night knowing some lad got his dream bike in good condition.

Been through a few hard months with my dog, he ripped his shoulder muscle badly, had 2 X-rays, 1 CT scan and a MRI. To top it off he cut his paw on some glass and it got infected. One of the problems over here in Germany is that a vet can’t by law recommend another vet or specialist so infuriating ended up seeing 3 different vets, I neurologist and a specialist dog hospital. Cost a small fortune but he’s my little sunshine in an overcast world. Thankfully he’s on the mend

Been doing a lot of work trying to get everything sorted on the 93 Range Rover, my mate signed up for a Baltic Sea tour next February. So many problems to fix but slowly getting there. The window mechanism broke so dropped it into the garage for a new one (been pretty hard to get parts over here due to Brexit, steering box should be here next week after 4 month wait). Unfortunately a mechanic dropped a rim on the bonnet but they repainted it and through in some new headlights and left me to sort out the decals. Got a couple of 303 keys, huge and heavy.

I’ve found that it depends on the AD, my mate must of spent well over 200k in the last 5 yrs at our local shop but when he asked to get on a waiting list for the new explorer 124270 in 36mm the manager was talking about 2-3yrs. I asked about it with the guy that runs the service dept and he says he can get me one within a year. There doesn’t seem any real rules they stick with. Same with the Nautilis they do show up it’s just wether or not they want to do you a ‘favour’ kinda thing and sell it to you.
A big thing is they don’t want you to just flip ‘em if they know your gonna keep it or it’s for a first time Rolex buyer they do try and help, we’ve managed to get a gmt, Daytona and a milgauss over the last year from the same shop, sorry for the crap photos -
