I bought this bike last year with the intention of having it resprayed and making a nice little run around for myself. I never got past taking it apart as another project took over. It has been stored in a garage since i purchased it but does have some surface rust. Its straight and in overall good condition, will make a lovely bike with a bit of time. Looks like I have dropped a bit of white paint on it a some point, wont matter if you are going to get it repainted.

I am selling this bike for a friend of mine who no longer rides it and would like to see her go to a good home. Its a 1980 Raleigh Traveller with 3 speed Sturmey Archer AG Dynohub and a black brooks saddle. It doesn't have the wiring fitted but I believe it was working when last tested. It is good condition for its age, few odd bits of surface rust but as you can see in the close up nothing major.
The brake cables have been removed in the picture but a new set is just about to be installed so it can be riden away safely.
£75 to be picked up from West Hampstead

I think it is that model, its padded and has two wheel compartments: [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004CS9RL4/ref=asc_df_B004CS9RL410337546?smid=A1HZ5FPD8FVC3N&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22218&creativeASIN=B004CS9RL4"]Amazon Listing[/ame]
Its in used condition (some scuffs) but perfectly usable

It is with great regret that I am selling my Orbit bike. I bought this complete last year and did a complete overhaul on it. It was my first every project, my pride and joy but I no longer ride it enough and with bills mounting up I need the money. I have spent an absolute fortune on this because it was worth while for me to work on as a project and also have something that I could be really proud of.
The frame is 21 inches made from reynolds 531 competition gauge and it has 700c wheels with long drop brakes. The forks are also 531. I would be looking for SOLD Don't know if my price is completely unrealistic if so then it might be better to split the parts and sell separately.

This is what the bike looked like when i first purchased it:

The bag is an old swiss ammunition carrier that has been converted into a pannier bag by a guy in America. Would be happy to sell separately that as my other bike doesnt have a rack.
I am in West Hampstead

Hi bec, can I ask where you got the frame? I have been hunting for something similar. Lovely bike by the way and agree with options from t.o. If you do split up the bike let me know, depending on the size I would be interested in the frame.
I bought it as a complete bike last year from a guy on gumtree. I will let you know if I split as it is a lovely frame to ride

1) keep both is the obvious answer (if you can poss afford to, and have storage space), you'll miss it when it's gone.
2) sell for less than its worth but take your time and sell it to someone who will really love it...?
3) remove all emotion from it and take it to pieces and sell for max return. Ask a friend to [help] take it to pieces.I would love to keep it but i think it deserves to be ridden more than once every couple of weeks. You are right though, i will definitely miss it.

Lovely build! Would be morally wrong to split :p
Although particularly the brooks may be better splitting off and selling separately
Thanks, I was really happy with it but have been riding more and more and found myself buying a road bike - not nearly as attractive but fast!
It would feel a bit wrong taking everything off after spending so long putting it together. Its not made of particularly fancy parts its just stuff like the saddle, velo rack, mudguards and bars that might be better individually.

Some advice required. I have a ladies 531 orbit that i built up and now no longer ride due to a recent road bike purchase. It took me a while to complete the project and will be hard to part with the bike but i just don't ride it enough and it seems a waste to keep it.
I know I will never get back what i spent on it but i just wondered if i would be better to sell the bike as a whole or split it up? I have seen loads of rebuilt bikes on ebay with ridiculous asking prices and know that Im not going to get those kind of asking prices, i spent the money because i enjoyed the process as well as wanting a nice ridable bike not because i thought i could sell it.
It seems a shame to pull apart all my work - is it better to sell it for less complete or slightly more in pieces?

Bought this off ebay on a bit of a whim and it arrived today. Think i probably paid over the odds due to the campagnolo atlanta 96 rims but it seems fairly solid ride. Dont think i will do too much to it, i did think about a respray but the 90s paint work is starting to grow on me. New pair of tyres on order and am looking for a b17s saddle to start with. Think that tape might have to go at the weekend but dont have the funds to do much more at the moment.

Hi Chango,
I am 172 and would say its probably a bit small for me, I have quite long legs for my body though.
