Feathers are great. As is a small piece of paper on the end of a string. Small piece of inner tube with a knot also good.
Basically everything small and pushable.@ChainBreaker ours love grandmas mohair blanket. Something woolly to sit on is a nice change to your freshly washed linen.
And (as apartment cats) they love looking at birds from the balcony, which is secured with nets.
All kinds of shoelace whatever to chase, as above.
They quite enjoy their plastic track thing with a ball, but that gets old and then we put it away. It's often recommended to rotate toys.As for furniture, something higher up to watch you is definitely great.
I am starting a cat furniture business right now, they love one of my designs, will post more soon. Also make sure to check if your plants are safe!
We make cat grass from wheat grass (?) They love that stuff. And of course time, love and affection, loads of that!

I like the look of the kurbelix own brand ones, but have no experience with them.

And if you just went for red brick wall?
I understand the blending in thing, but would imagine grey wood/grey bricks are kinda hard to match unless painted? Brick has mortar while wood has gaps and so on.
Do you have samples?
Apart from this I think your architect is right, simple solution, and the two walls line up.
