Pit Ponies was a blast. Route was an improvement on last year even if it did skip Fields Chippy in Esh and the weather was a lot better too. Dean's organisation was top notch, there was a mighty selection of food at the end. Bike is filthy. Picked up a McNasty mug. All in all, a good day out.

Assuming thermal conductivity values are the same, are different types of glass/mineral wool slab (multi-use, cavity, acoustic) mostly interchangeable? Have a couple of dwarf walls and studs against brick party wall to do in the loft as we put the "conversion" back together.

Which side/way is the wheel slipping, I though you could recreate the above on the original straggler as the dropouts were threaded at the front and rear?

Another option is a couple of monkey nuts to keep the wheel up against the front of the en dropout

Can you undo the axle bolts completely, pull the stays apart a bit all the way and then drop the wheel vertically? That's what I've ended up having to do with my 1x1 after fitting guards and with its stupidly placed disc mount.

Did you do anything to keep the lining straight while fitting it? Couple of pieces of scrap helped when I was doing it

Combi boiler question: turn hot tap on, boiler fires up and the temp displays quickly rockets up above 99 but cold water from taps.

Turned it on/off again, turned all taps on round the house. Anything else to check before calling someone?

Not unreasonable. If you had a couple of spare boards you could always practice on either side of those to get the hang of it. Might end up with a bit of sanding and filling to be done, depends how much time you have I guess.

Quick update on the structural floorboard. Turns out it's been notched and the fake joists are propped on nothing, half a brick and nothing (from left to right).
