Is any platform pedal suitable for horizontal straps, i.e. do they all have about the same width? As I have some old MTB platforms somewhere.

Hi, what would be the functional difference between metal and platform pedals when both are equipped with straps? As I already own some campy track pedals with cages, and wonder if it makes sense to invest in platforms - or alternatively I would buy smaller straps for the campy pedals.

This has now been given to a powdercoater to become RAL 9005 black/shiny (because I already own a chromed steel frame and didn't want to have two silver coloured bikes).
Which I think looks cool with the smooth welds.

As said, on drawings it always looks like the fabric is wrapped around the wire.
Is it possible that the wire has a very unusual shape here and the fabric is somehow clamped in the wire?

I can't imagine that the whole bond between tyre and wire is just made by rubber/glue? These are quite high end pariba tyres that are specified for up to 145psi (10 bar).

I have a pair of tyres that have been removed a bit ham-fisted in the past, therefore there is no rubber around the wire anymore on some areas.

I wonder why there is wire directly under the rubber, I always thought tyres are constructed with a fabric wrapped around the wire, at least that's how it looks on most tyre cross section drawings that you can find.

My biggest concern with the tyres is that the sidewall might rip off the wire and the tube pushes out, and the whole thing is clogging in my very tight forks causing a sudden brake and me flying over the bars.

Is this concern realistic? What I wonder is that the sidewalls still seem to stick very strong to the wire, it does not feel weak, it just looks sketchy. Also, there is no 'hole' between wire and sidewall, even if you could think that looking at the image:

Yes I was considering to recommend a folding bike too, due to their low entry point.
