Amazing that I discovered it and that it didn't lead to my flying over the handlebars. To get me up and running, will I get away with 101 links instead of 102 on a 2 speed with a 54T chainring?

I could but I love the instant torque from standstill that you get with a torque sensor- especially good on a cargo bike imho. Hub kits with a torque sensing BB don’t seem that readily available but open to suggestions!

How bad an idea would it be to grind off part of this spine to fit a Bafang mid drive? I was thinking I may get away with it since there’s some extra strength in that area from the triangulation onto the seat tube.

How far can the mid drive motor be rotated downwards to clear something like this?

Thinking out loud here, but I’m thinking about electrifying my budget cargo bike, but there’s a reinforcing spine under the BB that I think would interfere with a mid drive.

Given that the sturmey archer hub is already fucked, I’m thinking of replacing the rear wheel with a 26” hub drive. I’d love torque sensing to be built in, but maybe that ain’t gonna happen.

Ideally I’d find a crashed 26” e-MTB and grab the rear wheel, battery and gubbins and do a disc conversion on the rear.

How would it be cheaper than free? By improving fuel efficiency? I’m sceptical
