The important thing about the drink is the taste of the drink, and for a good coffee+milk drink you need good coffee and good milk n'est pas? I most days of the week find it easier to 'appreciate' the taste of the coffee when it's milked-down a bit, but like I said in my first post I'm not any kind of coffee afficiando, I just like drinking it eh.

I do wonder how much coffee has evolved in a certain direction BECAUSE of latte art, like the shape of cups, the "right texture" of the milk, etc.

But this is kind of my point. Surely the 'right texture' of milk is because it tastes mad good, not cos oh it looks like some kind of vaguely symmetrical shape on the top surface?

Ok, so I don't post in this thread cos I know nowt about coffee, but what I can't help but wonder when I see things like this^ is why is it always about the "latte art"? Surely just producing milk of the correct texture is the kind of be-all-and-end-all, and whatever patterns happen to be on the top is surely just the icing on the cake? Or is "latte art" just a nice shorthand for "milk of the correct texture"? I really don't know.

I got my accreditation about a year ago but haven't ridden since, any idea what the score is on renewing it?

I don't believe it's a thing that needs to be renewed..

I was well impressed by how glossy and well put together it was. Four of them a year is practically worth the membership alone.

The problem with Manchester (city centre) is all the ridiculous round-the-houses one-way/no entry/no left turn/no right turn business - I'm sure it works awesome for stopping cars fucking the whole thing up but for a cyclist, complying with all the instructions practically negates the benefits of being on a bike. Instead of "segregated" routes they should, where possible, get rid of a lane of cars and put in a bikes-only contraflow. And fix all the fucking potholes.
