This just in.
Severe storm warnings have beenissued by the Met Office as fears grow that the remnants of
Hurricane Katia could hit Britain bringing gale force winds,
flooding and transport chaos.Forecasters are monitoring the tropical storm that is isexpected to hit the UK on Sunday night or early next week.
80mph winds are a good workout.

Only one way to find out. New list. Monday 12th of September 2011. Train up, leisurely local ride, food, visit the nice people at Mercian and back (or some semblance of that order). Seems to be roughly 1:40 on the train, so an early-ish departure would leave serveral hours to faff around. I think that is what was originally envisioned.
- pharoahsanders (would still need to confirm can take day off work but likely)

Far as I can tell this is off unless someone wants to take up the lead and organize. I am still keen and willing to help with some of the logistics. Seems the Bonk already had the nice people at Mercian onside for this but we would need to reconfirm with them soonish if it were to go ahead. Anyone else still interested? New list?

Saw a remarkable number of cyclists last night on the way home who seemingly had lost the desire to live. Favourite was the one who overtook me with no room so he could shoot a tiny gap and undertake a slow-moving bus while approaching a blind junction. WAC. Ruined a perfectly beautiful evening.
