Kid's bikes are such a ripoff. Whatever you pay for them is too much, they are all crap and a year later it's too small. Son No. 2 has outgrown this so it's time for it to go. This would probably be good for a seven to nine year old (20 inch tyres).
It weighs a tonne, like everyone's first bike. My son learned to ride without stabilisers on this, and now he likes to go in circles at Herne Hill. He doesn't put in much effort yet, he's more smiles than pain face but there is plenty of time for that later. Anyway, it did what it needed to do, specifically get him on a bike.
At first I thought I would sell this, but I hate evil bay and they don't go for much anyway. Then I thought I would offer it here. But whatever sum, no matter how small, seemed too much to me. So here is the offer, open to anyone with a little yellow star next to their name. This is yours for a 10 pound donation to the forum, with the request that when you are done with it you pass it along in a similar fashion. That way Velocio gets a little coin, your child gets a bike and a lifetime of happiness (this last part may not actually be true).
Does that sound fair?
Here are the details:
Apollo Gradient 20 inch child's bike (that is the tyre size, not the seat tube). First bought from Halfrauds. Single speed. I don't know how many GI because I never cared enough to count the teeth, although at one point I was curious.I am having phone issues at the moment so pictures of it in its current state are a little problematic, but I do have this hipstagram from some time ago that proves it can put a smile on a child's face.

It's still in good nick and everything works, I am pretty sure. Been kept in a shed so not rained on. Needs a clean and some air in the tyres. Collect from SE10 please. Pharoah

and buy gold
July 8 (Bloomberg) -- John Paulson, the billionaire hedge-fund manager seeking to rebound from losses tied to bullion,
posted a 23 percent decline in his PFR Gold Fund last month,
according to a letter to investors. The drop brings the loss to 65 percent since the start ofthe year, the firm said in the July 3 letter, a copy of which
was obtained by Bloomberg News. The fund, with about $300
million in assets, consists mostly of Paulson’s own money and is
the smallest at the firm, which manages $19 billion. Paulson’s
other funds are profitable this year. -

Hello all. Just getting clued up into the world of bike storage. Have narrowed it down to two options.
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/minoura-bike-tower-10-bike-stand/
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/topeak-dual-touch-bike-stand/
My intention is to store two bikes on the pole and a third one leant against the wall beneath the other two. Is this feasable? Does anyone have any experience with the minoura one? I know the Topeak is popular but I'm feeling tarty and like the brushed aluminium pole of the Minoura one a bit better.
I have the Minoura one and it works fine. I think the answer to your question depends on how high your ceilings are. If the two on the pole are high enough off the floor such that the third will slide underneath, then yes it should work (the bars will rest agaist the wall, just need to protect against accidental contact of the TT against the pole). Hope that makes sense.

WJP I used these guys once and had a good experience, based in SE3. They were very competitive. Try them too.

Back to the topic at hand, brinelling. My headset has become brinelled, and I am looking for advice. It's a DA 7400 series, which I believe came with caged bearings earlier which were later replaced with cartridges (haven't taken it apart yet to determine which). To solve this brinelling riddle, the solutions seem to be:
- Replace cartridge bearings (but can't see from above where exactly to find them). Anyone done this? Would be the preferable route.
- If caged, remove bearings from cage, add one more and lots of grease, then rebuild, being careful they don't fall out and roll down through the gaps in the floorboards.
- Replace entire headset.
That sound about right?

So recommendations please for packing and moving a two bed house from Greenwich to Hither Green.
I have used these guys 2x for moving around SE10 and been pleased both times. They are based in SE3. Certainly worth getting a quote from them. Good luck with the move.

Mrs. Sanders and I were making felafel and hummous and other nice things, so I figured I should make some pitta bread to accompany, rather than pay the Co-Op for their rubbbery offering. It's about the same as a pizza dough recipe, dead simple. Puffed up nicely. Would make again.
