The only thing I don't like about this is the brake cable (Is it a brake cable?), wish there were more pics of this bike
Yep, it's a brake cable- be a similar setup to this

Not the same bike as you pictured but same principle. Check it- http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=142773&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Hipsteresque filter? How dare you........The finish goes satin as above after about a month or so - it's pretty glossy right after it's applied. There's a patch of rust near the old shifter where it has rubbed off, but otherwise it's resistant to occasional rubbing on clothes and stuff.
Heh, sorry... Ta for supplying the close-ups, I do like the finish with the Linseed, does add a nice tinge to yo steel.

Thanks for your reply but I am a little confused. The image seems to be of a socket nut, the type that goes in the recessed brake hole of a fork. How would I use this in the fitting of a mudguard?
I actually have threaded eyelets, so a long bolt and a spacer of some kind might work. But were you suggesting that I somehow used a socket nut as a spacer?
Yes exactly that- the thread of the recessed brake nut is slightly larger than the thread you will have on your threaded eyelet. So the recessed nut then acts as a spacer to give you more clearance past the brake calliper.
^^ but of course the repositioning and bending of the stays works like Oca has demonstrated...

Don't know of any guards with extra clearance, but if you were to buy a standard set- with eyelet fitting- on the disc side use a longer bolt and space it out with the Allen bolt from the back of a road brake calliper-
one of these at an appropriate length

Your LBS should have some kicking about I'm sure.
Failing that- buy some guards which mount onto the fork legs and seat stays.

Sweet! Love the forks as well... Maybe some paselas and then would be perfect?
what happened to the head badge?
Paselas would be a nice touch for sure, definitely be better off with some skin walls. Took the badge off, was going to respray but built it instead... need to re-attach it but need to order some micro rivets first!

Autumn is here, new tyre time.
