30 minutes sounds way too long for my taste. Get it over and done with in half that, ideally. Imagine 30 minutes of Prince Philip, then another 30 of Charles; anecdotal euthanasia.

Useless degrees - depends how you measure its effects. A degree isn’t just a means to an end – it can satisfy your interest in something other than your career path, or be done for no other reason than you fancy another challenge.
I’d rate personal fulfilment higher than career ambitions, and if you’ve got that, having completed a degree, then it’s been far from useless.

‘And it’s Irvine moving up from tenth to ninth, I don’t think he’ll do better than that; and Irvine crosses the line in seventh’
‘...and yes, I am very much mistaken...’
‘These gravel-traps don’t seem to be stopping anybody here’
Brundle – ‘There isn’t one there Murray...’
‘Hakkionen is a superer starter, if there is such a word’
+1 Murray Walker

Is there a separate restaurant thread? I can't find one.
Any recommendations for Thai food in central / EC?
Frikken Christmas season and having to find venues for fussy eaters.
Not as such, but this thread includes recommendations;

Best Thai restaurant in town is Nahm, at the Halkin Hotel, Belgravia. Very expensive though.

I like old Eddie. Saw him not so long ago wobbling on a bike in Mayfair. Not fond of boring old Coulthard in the slightest.
Ferrari definitely blew it. They seemed almost sure they'd win, given most factors were in their favour. I actually thought Alonso was gracious in his interview afterwards. And well done Vettel. Led the championship precisely once, but right when it mattered.
+1 to Martin Brundle – I’m not sure there’s a better sports broadcaster. He deserves more recognition – total natural.

Interesting. If there's one thing I was put on this earth to do, it's write. Nothing else gives me anything like as much satisfaction. It's my natural interest. I reckon it's a totally selfish pursuit too. I've written this and that, here and there, but never on the themes I'd like - satire/criticism.
I did some work experience for a literary agency a while ago, and the refusal rate for unsolicited manuscripts was pretty much 100% - tough gig, writing.
