I asked Storm. They said it was probably made 8 years ago and this line of bikes were named after Dutch seabirds. I knew there must be an innocent explanation behind the name;)

Bike theft is rife, at least in my experience. I've had friends whose bikes have been stolen, then you find them a few weeks later matte blacked and locked to a railing. Usually its ok if you lock the frame to something solid but if you've got nice parts they're likely to get stripped. I left my mtb locked outside my flat for 3 hours and someone nicked my brake blocks.

Updating this to say that it is now for sale again. I had changed my mind and decided to keep it but now it definitely has to go. I'm moving back to amsterdam and this wont last 5 mins locked up.

I've since found out that its made from Columbus Zonal tubing and its named after one of these guys: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Shag

Price is still the same but I'm also open to a trade for something steel in a similar size.

Checked bike again today. The rear hub broke when I took it for a test ride and the chrome was in a worse state than I thought. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and donated it to a skip. Rust in peace x

That setup really works well on your bike, its very close to what I had in mind.

I wouldn't mind changing them for straight steels with a threaded headset and quill stem, although that's quite a pricey conversion.

This was for sale but i've decided to keep it and build it up instead. Needs wheels, flite, nitto drops and probably 75s.
