One of those rare times where the red hardware works.

Thanks guys! :)
Its an FXE indeed and aluminum. Its basicly a Pre Cursa (with the old proper track geo i.e born with 75deg HT) with spacing for fenders. You can't buy it anymore unfortunately but sometimes they pop up here and there.
Front fork is a Quantec CX Disc. Can be bought cheeply on Bike24.de. Don't get fooled by the name, its actually rather good quality and eqaully as light the Kinesis DC37 (700g ish). -

stahp man, you're making me wanna a build a disc braked mud fixie
looks like some serious fun
DO IT! It is awesome!
Its super versitile. Super fast for innercity riding. Super low maintenance comparing with a geared MTB. Its a great winter hack (has fender mounts for proper full fenders). And leaving geared cyclocrossers in the dust/must on it is just one of the better feelings you can encounter in this univers.
With little change in parts it could even be light tourer. -

What's it like at the SS bridge? I always find it funny how Dolan claim that it has 23c max clearance
SS bridge and Brakebridge is same same no? If you mean the chainstay bridge its actually pretty good. The Dolan FXE was built for fenders and 28c max so the chainstays are wide. So wide infact that it will barely fit a 48T chainring with a 42mm chainline.

Has now been made a lot more competitive on the CX course with hydraulic disc brake on the front. New tires works wonders too.
Needs to be blacked out a bit more and I'm already saving up for a tubeless wheelset on ZTR Iron Cross rims.

Training wheel, innit?
If anything, aero is even more important to sprinters as they are the ones who go fastest; at 70km/h, a sprinter has nearly 60% more drag power per CdA than a pursuiter doing 60km/h
Its not a training setup. The bike is Olga Panarina's from Belarus.
Here she is in the bronze final in the 2011 World cup sprint final with that wheel. http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/51855000/jpg/_51855701_pendleton_ap.jpgI even believe she was one of the last to change to a sprint specific helmet. I don't think they have a lot of government support in Belarus so that might be the reason.
Her trainer is a big fan of leather too :)

is that a SRAM Red chainring?
is it safe to ride fixed with that chainring?
I know you have brakes but do you skid with that chainring?
I ask this because i already saw (two times) a road chainring brake with skidsAs mentioned its a SS. The Red cranks are definitely some excellent cranks. It might be a bit of gamble though since only using one chainring means that the chainringbolts are now squeezing directly on the carbon as you can just glims on one of the photoes. Composites don't handle compression very well so I might make som spacers do spread out the load and hopefully avoid any fatigue issues.
So far its been working like a charm though.Oh, and the pista stem is actually 'testers old ;)

@Zdrenka .. easiest way to make threaded holes is to use Rivet Nuts
http://www.rivetwise.co.uk/productrange/nutdetails.asp?nut=m5fro_s_a_26
These are common use in sheet metal construction / workshops
Oh yeah, didn't think of those. I have tried some once building something else. They seem to like a flat surface. Steel tubes have a fairly small radius so don't you recon it would a bit of a gamble?

Thanks!
Calipers are the same as the Planet X Forged models, but bought in Germany.

Pound Sterling is currently in a lot better state than the Euro, so cheaper for me.The chainline is closer to 47-48mm with this setup.
Tyres are indeed Challange Forte. Only been on them for 30k so not an in deepth review but so far they seem to be quite nice. They seem to like slightly higher pressure than usual. They grip very well on the dry. Confident steering in my mind. I doubt they would last very long on a brakeless skidder rig though.

So, my singlespeed finally rideable. Really pleased with it. Project started because I wanted a bike that could make me ride with the gear guys but without commiting to gears.
I got slightly inspired by old crit bikes which essentially was build with track bike like geometry i.e steep angles, high bottom bracket for early accelerating out of the corners and a fairly forward position on the bike for easy drafting and a low and aero position.
The bike is about 5cm/2inches shorter than an equivelantly sized road bike so its definitely more compact.Still a bit to do. I've got a stem with a steeper angle in sight for a lower setup. I'll also have to figure out the best way to make threaded holes for bottle cages.

Question is. Is she even the one holding the chainring?
