Think it might be time for me to do some more cycle training soon. Have been seriously doubting my own hazard perception.
Yesterday a.m:
Overtaking a lorry, as soon as I do he stops, as does car coming down the road, to let out lorry 2 from a junction to the left which I knew was there, but couldn't see. I'm forced to stop inside his turning circle on a pretty narrow road. Was OK, but felt precarious being between 2 lorries. Really hate that road always so much traffic backed up.
Later on the same commute, overtaking some stationary traffic waiting at light, see lights change and prepare to drop back in behind white car signaling right (I thought for the lights) she promptly stops again and i realise she is signaling for an underground car park, just beyond where she was. Luckily she's seen me, I felt silly.

@Brameses There's a hobbyist on retrobike who quoted me about £150-£200 from memory, for a really nice looking custom fork with Panceti crown. He had another he's already made already for less, but I think that's gone now. His forum name was biglev.
I'm casually looking for similar, hard to come by. There was a set of old thorn forks on ebay recently with lowrider bosses, steerer was too short for me though.

Are those the short Berthouds? I made that mistake on mounting mine first, I think the hole is meant for a druama bolt under the fork rather than the front rack, as the bottom ends up very high that way. You need the long version (annoyingly don't seem to be available in that size) to cover the bag and give your feet decent coverage. Of course none of this matters at all, have a great trip.

From my LBS, they're a genesis dealer. I have heard the Madison overseas distro is a bit hit or miss. Sure you could convince someone to ship a frame if it works out on prices though. This guys always seems to crop up on my ebay searches, not sure if that's a good thing, but he does seem to stock a lot of Genesis bikes.

Yeah had seen them. It's a preference but if there's something else that works I'll polish it up. Thing is with those (and possibly the case with the two I've list too) is that the hoods end up quite slanted, Ideally I'd like the hoods to stay usable. I have trouble with my median nerve getting irritated sometimes and wonder if that would aggravate it. That's why I was thinking of the Cowchippers, but they're not available until late June apparently.
Edit: pretty sure I'm going to use the Midge now and see how I get on. Anyone have a silver pair to sell?

Having sleepless nights about which dirt drop to go for. I like the look of the Nitto RM014 but have a feeling the reach will be too long (30mm longer than my current road bar)
The Midge is also a strong contender, being 10mm less than my current. This would mean I could re-use the Thomson X4 off my road bike.
How do frame manufacturers measure reach? Do they factor in a standard stem and bar reach too? I think I may just have to buy both and see what works.

Soma recommend you don't use 650b on the wolverine http://somafab.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/guide-to-650b-conversions-on-soma-frames.html?m=1 you may well have less clearance because of the chainstay curve.
Also go for drop bars!

Just properly lost my shit at a taxi driver who nearly took me out turning on to the Bristol to Bath railway path. Such a dodgy junction, I really shouldn't give drivers the benefit of the doubt in that spot.
