A few years ago I spent 9 weeks in Philadelphia eating junk food on an almost daily basis. My blood pressure rose to 140/95 mm Hg and my resting pulse rate to 72bpm.

I jumped back on the bike the minute I returned to the UK. After about 6 months: BP = 100/60, resting pulse rate = 47 bpm.

Endeavouring to remain upright with the crosswinds at the top of Ditchling

The comedy:
Youramericanlover trying to emulate the gratuitous skids of Mash SF and then stacking it.
Sprinting to catch Bothwell and Lynx who flew past because they didn't know we had stopped in a pub; then having to sprint back to find out where Jacob and Benjam were!
Dancing James doing his bit for the Sussex ecosystem by regularly fertilising it with urine.

I DAS'd a guy with a bobble hat riding an orange lo-pro on Mile End Road earlier today, but only received a bewildered look in return. Nice bike.

Also did the Christmas Cracker ride and clocked up 103 miles including the ride from and back to my place in Essex. No Garmin and no smart phone make this difficult to prove though!

Twas a great ride, thanks to Oli for recceing and leading the ride. There was a nice mix of 'gurning' climbs and pleasingly challenging technical descents which tested the bike handling skills. Given the weather conditions and the reduced effectiveness of the front rim brake, I definitely found myself braking using my back legs more.

Speaking of the weather conditions, my bike and I ended up completely covered in filth. I washed both, but one remained brown in colour!

Bernie's cries of 'FENTON' during the bit through the deer-filled park also worth a mention for their comedic value.

Thanks to Tony too for the mince pies and tour of the factory. Greatly appreciated.

Ended up with 103 miles on the cycle computer after cycling home; if only there was a way to prove this to the guys at Rapha. Oh well.

Should be in for tmw. I have to get up early for the 27 mile ride into Victoria though, so there's a high risk I might oversleep.
