If you've got black drivetrain gunk on a carpet go to Boots and ask behind the counter for rubbing alcohol. Get some cotton wools balls/pads (not synthetic j-cloth things), soak a bit of the alcohol into them and DAB the stain. It'll absorb into the cotton wool. Don't scrub it though.

Just going back a few posts, are the hard anodized Trangia pans non-stick? I don't mean are they rated as non-stick by Trangia, I mean are they non-stick in practice? I get pissed off cooking something on mine and welding it to the surface.
